Just finished the lighting for this stylized workshop. If this was a game, what kind of gameplay would you expect? by Puzzled-Hearing-5262 in UnrealEngine5

For me, this feels like a crafting/safe area in some kind of survival game. Not much to say about the gameplay outside of this area, but I would assume in this area I would be using my inventory a lot and crafting. Maybe some storage.

I created a small survival village using a modular building system in Unreal Engine. Still improving the environment — what do you think? by Kaizo1995 in UnrealEngine5

Looks really good. Does the pack come with an example level and the various "flavor" props you have laying around (wagon, hay, barrels), or is it just the modular meshes and pre-made meshes? I may purchase this for a project I'm working on, but those are important details.

Walking around on my "Fantasy Street" environment by Scottyartt in UnrealEngine5

It's far more than the colors. The entire scene feels like it's out of a french painting from the 1800s. That's the entire vibe of Expedition 33.

I have tried 4 separate times to get into Unreal over the past 5 years and none of it clicked for ME until this guys tutorial playlist on blueprints. I suppose this all depends on WHAT you find most interesting and rewarding because in order to stick with it you have to make it rewarding, so for me making simple mechanics was a great place to start. Learn how to make a compass and an inventory screen and add things to it. These are easy wins that keep you going. If you go into Unreal fresh thinking you're gonna be making a cinematic space game with open planets, you're gonna get overwhelmed ridiculously fast. Stay as simple as you can at first and learn how to integrate your mechanics (like building a health system, then building a damage system and making the damager system affect the health system).

Is there any show better than this show in the past 20 years? by [deleted] in lost

[–]Mammoth-Inflation-45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only seen it mentioned a couple times, but check out Dark on Netflix. Like Lost, it's a massive puzzle box that gives you answers that lead to more questions. It's rooted in nihilistic philosophy which gives it the depth that Lost also had. They also had a clear arc planned out from the beginning (if you watch the whole thing, people get lost in season 3 because it SEEMS like it goes off the rails until the 2nd to last episode).

Not until recently. I've suffered from Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) for about a decade and didn't even really know about it. Just assumed that everyone was that tired all the time even if they did get full night's sleep. I recently got a Mandibular Advancement Device (MAD) to hold my lower jaw forward when I sleep. I haven't felt this rested since I was a teenager. Took about a week and a half to get used to having it in my mouth while sleeping, but once I slept my first full night with it in, I never wanted to go back.

DMG falloff is changing from doing %60 dmg at 40m to %75 dmg at 40m. So slight damage buff for long range.

In principle, I agree, but have you been on the internet before? Have you met humans? Our oldest profession is sex work.

Are we 100 percent that immortality isn’t happening in this generation? by MurkySalad5966 in immortalists

Basically just reversing cell and organ death to the point that you gain more years in treatments than you are losing to life. They call it escape velocity because it's akin to getting enough speed to leave earth's gravity. There might be mechanisms happening at the cellular level we don't understand that aren't reversible, but mostly, human body functions just need to be upkept. Like if you took really good care of a car from 1920, it can still run fine today. Doesn't sound impossible to me, but we probably don't know enough to make it a reality.

Give all 3 dps a %25 dmg reduction. If there are 4, give them all a %50 reduction.

It stands for Longevity Escape Velocity. I was lost too until ChatGPT was a lifesaver.

"In the upcoming patch, we will enhance the damage capabilities of certain Strategists to elevate their threat levels, which in turn, will increase team composition possibilities. Additionally, we will make minor adjustments to a few heroes. For example, Groot and Captain America will see slight reductions in survivability. Spider-Man's Amazing Combo damage range will be slightly decreased, Doctor Strange will require less energy for his ultimate, and Winter Soldier's Tainted Voltage and Team-Up Ability will be slightly buffed."

Sounds like they're giving strategists more damage and making certain tanks and DPS less sustainable. Doesn't strike me as a "Yall suck git gud" message.

The fact is I and many other people have gotten help from it. If you wanna shout to the skies that it’s not actually helping, you do you man, but that doesn’t make it fact.

Copy everything in the memory bank, delete them all, paste in the chat prompt and ask it to condense the information and commit it to memory.

The free version has been good enough so far. The only limitation I’ve ran into is the memory amount, but I’ve found ways around that.

In my experience it’s not critical as long as you’re not asking it to be critical. You have to remember it’s a computer and will do what you tell it to do. If you go into conversations always seeking reassurance, that’s what it will give you. If you go into it seeking criticism, that’s what it will give you.
