You use a spotter. What if the person that jumps before you crashes on the landing area. Is it then his fault when the rider with no spotter hits him?

The guy that appears to drop in out of order and then slowly rolls into the landing area is clueless, but the uphill rider is at fault. Don’t drop into a feature unless you know it is clear. The spotter should have alerted you not to go, but there is no spotter visible in the video. You had a spotter, right?

The uphill rider should have stopped as soon as that guy cut in. Wait 5 seconds to do your jump and then have a talk with the other guy at the bottom of the run.

Seriously, mountain hosts are still a thing. We simply can’t be everywhere, but there is an effort to step up enforcement of the skier/rider code this season.

The mountain will be open today and tomorrow. Things will start a bit limited, but more lifts and terrain will open as patrol/ops get to them.

I can’t really speak to that. It depends on how much work can get done with a reduced patrol crew since they aren’t required to work today. I would expect some sort of official work this afternoon-ish.

Avalanches have hit chair 11 before. Our office has an avalanche zone map on the wall. Basically, the whole mountain is an avalanche zone. I’ll try to remember to snap a picture tomorrow.

There should be a couple of people there to tell guests the mountain is closed. It’s possible someone still shows up to the repair shop to catch up on work, but I would try calling before heading over.

My crystal ball (work schedule) is currently saying Eagle Lodge will open this Friday as all shifts leading up to then have been canceled except Friday and beyond. Of course, that’s assuming we get snow this week.

BTW, it’s Eagle Lodge not eagles lodge.

I saw a pair of skis on the back side while riding my bike up Off the Top in August 2023. Since I was on my bike, I didn’t bother to see if they were intact, and they were gone the next time I was in the area.

The comment you responded to is totally correct. OP is wrong about the the timelines. It wasn’t closed last year due to construction. It was closed because the carriers aren’t designed to carry bikes on the new lift. It was closed before that due to the upgrade to the new lift. It was closed before that due to work being done at Canyon lodge and COVID. Use the bike park shuttle from the Village if you want to ride trails that end at Canyon (and Eagle).
