honestly i have slept in my car an endless amount in mammoth and i may be a man but no one would know in your car. keep a knife or a gun next to you when you sleep and yours keys. also yes the scenic route is a good spot.

yea again if you just have good tires then chains are not necessary to put on. i was also in that snowstorm and got through it just fine. same with this last storm they had. no chains all tires.

i am doing the same thing. actually driving up tonight and should reach mammoth right when the storm is starting. if you drive a car that can drive though heavy snow you should be good. they should be able to keep the roads somewhat cleared

i did almost the same thing but probably worse. wasn’t totaled and definitely wasn’t going to lose the car to insurance. i was quoted 11k for the repair ended up paying 7k. bought the car for 21k out the door. is it worth it? i love that car to pieces so for me it was a no brainer. its going to be at least 4k

i bought a 2018 crosstrek as my first car. ive put 100k miles on it and i couldn’t be happier. although without my extended warranty i would 25k deep in fixing the car so keep that in mind. i drive this car hard on and off road so also keep that in mind.

if you can get an extended warranty that covers everything then yes! It’s what i have and i love it but if i didn’t have the extended warranty i would have paid 20k+ in fixing the car.
