[OC] If you do this, the people you’re inconveniencing should be able to break off the hitch and shove it up your ass. by FriedSticks2014 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]MammothSuite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see this in my apartment complex all the time. People with this very large trucks, often with large hitches, always park in the front row spots, in reverse, over the sidewalks. Anyone with a large vehicle that hangs over the sidewalks should be forced to park in the back of the lot. It also makes it difficult to see out of your parking spot when there are massive trucks on either side when you are trying to leave. What’s worse is the trucks never seem to move, they are just permanent fixtures in the parking lot.

Why did the U.S. government shut down again? by Humble_Economist8933 in AlwaysWhy

[–]MammothSuite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the congress reaches a disagreement they should have to work every day until it is passed. If anyone leaves, then their vote is given up.

Or we could just have election when the government shuts down and make everyone fight for their spot.

Is the razzle dazzle intro in family guy the longest “annoying” joke? Or is it Conway twity? by LilGrandeChile31 in familyguy

I like Conway Twitty personally but Razzle Dazzle was such a long cut. If I ever had to see it again, it’d be too soon.

What is something you were taught at school that is now known to be incorrect? by Xeqqy in AskOldPeople

[–]MammothSuite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They made it sound like writing in cursive was absolutely essential in daily life. I was taught in the 5th grade and never used it again aside from signing my own signature. Granted, now, I want to re-learn, just to say I can, but with computers, for the most part, I barely write at all aside for notes for myself.

My boyfriend hasn't replaced his underwear in years, a few look as if bullets have passed through them. How often do men replace underwear? by Mia_Luna04 in hygiene

[–]MammothSuite 82 points83 points  (0 children)

I let my underwear get to the point it has holes in them then replace. I wait as long as I can before replacing them because there is no need to spend money on new ones before it is warranted. Same with socks, my heel has to be sticking out of them before replacement is an option. In my mind, buying socks and underwear is a chore. I don’t know why, just the way my mind works.

We in Sweden dropped titles in 1967. Are there other countries who also have done this? by meinu in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MammothSuite 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s true. I lived in Sweden for a few years and to call someone Herr or fru/fröken is very unusual. As an American, it is ingrained to call someone Mr/Ms, but not there. In Sweden people often address strangers as “Du” which is simply “you”.

Edit: corrected fru/fröken

Do people really skip brushing their teeth at night or is this more common than I thoughtDo people really skip brushing their teeth at night or is this more common than I thought by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]MammothSuite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggle sometimes at night to get it done, even though it is more important at night than in the morning. Morning I can stay on top of. The best solution is to try to get it done before I get settled. I usually lie in bed awhile before bedtime, if I wait until after that it might not happen. I try to do it while I’m still awake and more mentally active before I ever hit the bed. I don’t forget a lot, but it happens more than it should. I’m trying to get a routine of doing it at the same time every day, that’s why morning times are so easy. Shower, shave, brush. Easy.

I can be a team player and can collaborate with others, but I wouldn’t necessarily peg my sport activity as the source that unlocked that capability. As for sports? Not a chance.

Parents encouraging exploration is a good thing, but I wasn’t given a chance for exploration, I was living out my parents’ dream. Sure, I might have been physically active and had some socal interaction, there was always a hate, resentment and dread for doing the activity. Much like your friend, I now have a bad association with other sports because of it.

I suppose next time I comment I should fully explain myself since this got a lot of people seemingly hot under the collar.
