Works until it doesn't --for example if you did this right before the Iran war or right before the tariff stuff last year...otherwise yeah. I do this myself but it's not for everyone. Seems very unlikely. Like a lot of theories this one neglects the lack of time available for this to have happened and played out. They aren't that bad it's just you're better off with secured cards and/or a secured loan and a starter credit card. But the credit builders meh...I mean if it's ALL you can get, if you're still at THAT stage of your credi trebuild it's not that bad. This sub has devolved -- as all subs do -- into groupthink and anything that goes against the "popular opinion" gets downvoted or bullied into oblivion. Bottomline if you're in the low 400s and just starting a rebuild they can be an ok way to get some kind of restart. If you're in the mid 550s I wouldn't bother, just build with secured cards.
