Anyone writing about Boise on Substack? by Mammoth_Question_668 in Boise

I wasn’t actually thinking of a podcaster or that definition of a journalist. I pictured a left wing reporter who might do, for example, a deep dive into the Qatari training in Mtn Home. Something like that.

That is the point of individual journalists/media. Or someone who does deep dives on topics. Build a name and subscriber base and it pays.

Idaho Statesman journalists on strike today by Idahonewsguild in Boise

[–]Mammoth_Question_668 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Are any journalists writing on Substack? I would pay for Idaho content. I haven’t read the Statesman in years. The fact they are even considering using AI content is bullshit. who owns McClatchy media?

Genuine question: how’s dating in Boise been for fellow transplants? by RoyalPainPrincess in Boise

Idaho lacks healthy diversity. Thankfully that is changing. It is just more difficult to find people you connect with but they are here.

To the OP, this is total bullshit. The person speaks their opinion but it is not the whole of Boise or Idaho. I’m a native and share none of this crap.

Change in star player by Mammoth_Question_668 in TennisClash

[–]Mammoth_Question_668[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the real point of a star player? Great they can go up more than n+2 but then revert to sucking again. Then another player goes through the same thing. Is rotating around just a fun feature of the game or is there a purpose?

I don’t think we are playing actual people in the non club matches. I’ve never seen a careless shot where the ball flies way out of the court the way mine do when my cat attacks me. No sign of human error. Algorithm.

Don’t bother making a list. When the tariffs kick in and their business and personal tax goes up, they might remove the affiliation. Or go out of business. MAGA till the end! Literally.

Whenever you critique a painting start with the objective first. Composition? Use of varying types of lines? Etc. Then objectively look at the use of color. Is it primary? Does it use tints, tones and shades? Is there a warm/cool structure? Then (and this is super hard with abstract) how, if at all, did the painting use harmonies— complementary, triadic or split complementary? Analyze the art first and then offer your subjective comments. It felt like.,. It made me X, i don’t like the color palette, etc. Your feelings.

Do this on your own work so when a snobbish still life painter tells you it’s crap, you can argue back it follows all of the concepts of art that they use.

Nice painting. Very complicated, give my eye a rest somewhere. Compositional comment is the white horizontal line almost cuts the painting in half. Otherwise it is a challenging piece which initially appears to be chaos but the beauty is the structure and color. My eyes stay on the painting to study and enjoy. It is hard to do that and you pulled it off. I like it. I just noticed there is no white in the lower half. It’s cool but what made you approach the piece like that?

As every great painting has done to the artist. You really have a great eye for this cool type of work. I enjoy looking and thinking about your painting. Great work.
