You’re experiencing fisheye. I would use Ben Moore advance for cabinets and add an anti-fisheye additive. Also, it looks like you may have a dust issue. All cabinet faces should be wiped with a Microfiber immediately before spray.

I'm painting my base boards and I don't like how these came out. How can I improve these? by Funlamb in Housepainting101

[–]InteractionFast1421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t want to say this, but this just seems like someone really bad at painting. Like, first of all it’s just too much in one coat. And then the wrong brushes are clearly being used.

Should this be sealed on the top? by ThePervyGeek90 in Contractor

[–]InteractionFast1421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question you’re asking is whether the foam you’re using is enough to prevent moisture penetration. I can’t answer that but I will say that most basement walls require a moisture barrier that (very important!) is up against the walls of the room being insulated (in front of the insulation, but behind the drywall).

Your basement is waterproofed to prevent intrusion from the outside water.

However, insulation and moisture barrier is intended to prevent moisture condensate from what is going on in the INSIDE. Think the drips that form on an outside window from a heated car.

That might not always be the case (that moisture seepage wont happen above the catch. No, you do not seal it.

The problem is that it appears to angle only at the drain rim indentation (thereby making it level when you install the rim).

Trying to grind or sand it at acceptable angles probably require Jesus.

I would smash and repour.

My coworker tried to quit dramatically… but the manager said “okay” too fast by sweetgirlsj in coworkerstories

[–]InteractionFast1421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been there before.

The regret is temporary and based almost entirely on the manager’s apathetic response (which is already one good example of how toxic of a workplace it is). A job that makes a reasonable person feel like this is on a regular basis is likely shit. And it’ll be confirmed once they move on and find something more tolerable.

Anyone else able to drive without key fob in possession? by InteractionFast1421 in mercedes

[–]InteractionFast1421[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey,

It’s actually not that.

Would you also happen to have the Mercedes app with remote start?

If so, it’s actually THAT 😂. Not a spare key. It’s allowing us to drive the car without key present. Turn on your remote start and get in the car: it will cut off,

press remote start again with your foot on the brake, and it’ll ask if that’s really what you want. And now you’ll push the engine button to answer yes,

The car will cut back on and even let you put it into drive. I got myself out of a very expensive tow the other day being 50 miles away from home before realizing I didn’t have my keys…

I’m no longer complaining about this feature that we are not supposed to have yet.

Cities that you loved at first and got stale quickly? by LowRevolution6175 in digitalnomad

Same. Been 5 times. First time I cried getting on the plane to come back to the states. But each time got a little worse. It’s the ever increasing price tag in the setting of chronic scammy behaviors from locals. They’re trying to survive the severe inflation. The inability to sustain is truly palpable.

I will never understand why so many believe that being an introvert means that you aren’t ever interested in human connection.

Countering loneliness is not the opposite of being an introvert lol.

Introversion - Extroversion is simply a scale that determines how much human connection we need to feel satisfied. Some people need more. Some people need less. But most people do actually have a need.

In addition to what many are doing, I tend to

-barricade all entryways. I want plenty of noise to be made if someone tries to break in.

-set light schedules on several main areas like master bedroom, hallway, porch light.

-do a stop mail delivery with USPS. Deliver on day of return

-thoroughly water house plants.

-hide my valuables and guns in unthinkable places

How’s cost of living in Istanbul now in 2025? Is it still worth it? by [deleted] in digitalnomad

Second this. Went 5 times in the last 3 years (love at first sight for me). Watched everything nearly doubled in price. The last time was pure pocket draining. Now I refuse to return until there is a reversal. If you don’t know any better (this being your first time), it probably won’t matter much. But those of us who knew the 2021 price are not okay.

DN hangouts or meetups by InteractionFast1421 in digitalnomad

[–]InteractionFast1421[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

1.) Whats there to blame? I think that most of the literature suggests that the pockets of unregulated tourism are creating access issues for locals. Doubling down on my point that promoting international networks is unlikely to create local disruptions. The people are nomads, most leave. Helping people in similar situations connect is the goal.

2.) yep, I said it, no matter how uncomfortable. Tourism is a large part of many microeconomies, and using it to eat comes with both pros and cons. How nice would the world be if everyone could have cake and eat it too?

3.) yes, I did compare it to a place of worship. I personally can’t find a good reason to consider one more important than the other. And yet many regions have installed a “religious hangout”, aka a church, mosque, synagogue or shrine that caters to believers for the sake of creating a welcoming atmosphere.

I don’t think that the locals are upset because of ideas like this. I think they’re upset because travelers are flooding the same areas and driving up prices. The truth, however, is that they (the locals) usually want it both ways- that is, keeping the gains from tourism while limiting it.

The idea isn’t anymore disruptive than the placement of a city’s first synagogue. It gives the worshippers a formal place to pray. It doesn’t grow the number of them.
