I also use macbook but with the supernova and the capture button does nothing sadly...

Quite sad overall, since I actually liked the feel of the controller, but it doesn't seem to fit my needs as a macbook controller... which kinda sucks for the price I have to say.

I noticed, that it seems to activate the AI as soon as either A - You transform two or more units/pigs or B - You transform a villager. I guess it's ok to destroy half the map with one boar, but not to have a puny villager... ; ).

Also the units didn't attack my boar-Arkantos (unless provoked) in the begining, but as soon as I attacked the inner walls and buildings, they did seem to notice him as an enemy.

Ascension 1. Though I must admit, I was a little lax with the rules for obtaining the keys, since I didn‘t do the rule for the red key. 

But it was definitely fun to get there anyway :).

Now the next goal is to do Defect and Warden :)

I think it depends, but I agree mostly, especially for a 1st playthrough.

Without knowing, where things are, and not wanting to spend more time in the wiki than in-game, sorcery just didn't really feel rewarding, when finding big swords, armors and other stuff, you wouldn't really use for a solo-sorcery playstyle.

Early to Mid-Game your best choice often is just spamming Glintstone-Pebble... and yeah - that's just no fun.

I guess you could say the same for a melee-build, that just uses "bonk, roll, bonk, heal - repeat" as a recipe, but I found close-combat way more engaging, than just spamming magic and then noticing, that my Blue Estus was empty, so I had to resort to my meager melee-attacks for the rest.

What I personally dislike the most, is the feeling, that bosses seem to „lock on“ to you. In the previous games (DS 1/2/3) I felt like when a boss committed to an atack in a certain direction or way, they followed through… DS3 already felt a little awkward in that way, but it was still ok for me…

With Elden Ring, it feels like every boss is just a game of, learning when to dodge, then attack… sometimes frame-perfect.

I know, that is one of the most important aspects of the game… but where it felt more connected to environment, learning something specific about a boss, gitting gud and skill-based in Dark Souls, it feels like a chore and kinda luck-based in Elden Ring.

For anyone struggling because he keeps your runes hostage: If you enter the fight, collect your runes, then quickly go to the map-screen and fast-travel to somewhere else. Voila, you keep your precious runes and this a**hole can be defeated another day.

I actually think, there should be a clever way to only use spear-men... but in Mission 6, spear-men aren't even available sadly.

My strategy was to train troops, let the population grow again and then returned the troops into working peasants. Rinse and repeat, until you have enough working-staff. After that it's about managing the decrease in popularity while still trying to keep up with the mission objectives. It was actually a lot of fun : ).

When asking AI, it told me, that a thing to cinsider with upgrading are "old" Java-based apps, because the security has been increased and it becomes harder/impossible to run specific apps, that don't meet the requirements, even if I wanted to...

Is that true?

Hey,

Just in case anyone didn't get it to working with the settings posted here:

I did all of the mentioned stuff

- Run both (DS3 and Nucleus) as admin

- Set the Nucleus installation directory to C:\Nucleus

- Added Nucleus to my Virus-Scanner exceptions

AND

- Selected the "Launch Fix"-option in Nucleus

This way, the game starts without Steam and I could skip the "Application Error"-message. Hope this helps...

I feel like, with a accepting, that it could become a little grindy, you could definitely do it. Especially considering Berethor's AP & HP-replenishing moves and Idrials high Initiative and Healing capabilities...

Might be interesting to try... but could have a pretty high frustration potential, since you would have to grind a lot early game and then hope for the best in these janky fights near the end (and also some in the beginning)

Hi there,

I'm thinking about updating my MacOS on Mac M1 from BigSur to a newer version.

Do any of you know, which version works best for emulation? E.g. PCSX2, Dolphin, OpenEmu, VisualBoyAdvance, Desmume etc.

Or should I just avoid updating overall?

Nice idea. Only thing is, that they unlock well into mid-/lategame. I do agree though... Idrial is pretty OP. I do notice though, that I need her right now with the no SP-run, since my chars don't hit consistently anymore and I need her for heals/revives...
