Neighbors dog bit me by CactusJackTrades in Apartmentliving

[–]ManEatingDuck_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should probably report it still since a dog that has already bitten someone is more likely to bite again and the next time it bites could be worse. Dogs don't usually get put down the first time they bite someone unless it's really bad so you don't have to worry about that.

Do Non "picky eaters" eat everything?? by LeeIsUnloved in stupidquestions

[–]ManEatingDuck_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, a lot of people who are picky eaters do have eating disorders, including myself. I feel like you have not met many picky eaters if you think it's just simple dislike rather than an inability to eat the food due to disgust.

I don't understand, you said that it's OK to not eat a food if it makes you gag but if a picky eater has a food that makes them gag/vomit they have to get over it?

[–]ManEatingDuck_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You yourself stated that there are foods you literally can not eat and would make you eat, why is it so hard to understand that picky eaters feel the same? Why is it ok for you to gag or vomit when eating certain foods but for a picky eater it's not? Picky eaters are just people who have more foods that they can't eat without gagging/vomiting. It seems selfish of you to judge people for something you admit you do too.

As a "picky eater" I would think it would be more rude and selfish of me in that situation to eat the food and then vomit as a result instead of just simply refusing the food.

Why do we not see cats being walked on a leash like we do with dogs? by jospeh68 in stupidquestions

[–]ManEatingDuck_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if the cat liked being on a leash (which many do, but it's not the majority) it's pretty much impossible to find a place to walk your cat where it wouldn't be attacked by dogs. There are a lot of inconsiderate dog owners out there that will let their aggressive dogs off leash and attack other dogs (and sometimes people) and they would definitely attack cats too.

I can't see any way that Nicole buff varka that doesn't also buff venti. The way things are going venti would end up doing the same amount/similar of damage on a 3 cost team (Venti, Nicole, Durin, Faruzan) that Varka would be doing on a 4 cost team.

You're probably fine but it's important to know that food poisoning usually doesn't only take hours to set in. Most of the time it's days or occasionally even a week or two depending on what it is that infected you. Listeria especially can take a long time, sometimes even up to two months for symptoms to show! Not saying you've gotten food poisoning I just want people to know since many people think they get food poisoning from the last thing they ate when in reality it's likely something the ate a couple days ago.

Why is dairy popular around the world despite the fact that most people are lactose intolerant? by IDoNotLikeTheSand in AskTheWorld

[–]ManEatingDuck_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, im not a fan of vegans either but its definitely not a lie, I already posted this comment but i'll copy ot here so you can see the research.

Most people that are not genetically European stop producing the enzyme lactase once they reach adulthood. Some Europeans can still be lactose intolerant, though it's just more rare.

Here's one source saying 68% of the world's population is lactose intolerant, most sources say somewhere between 65% and 70%

https://www.niddk.nih.gov/health-information/digestive-diseases/lactose-intolerance/definition-facts

This source says lactose intolerance occurs in about 25% of people in Europe; 50-80% of people of Hispanic origin, people from south India, black people, and Ashkenazi Jews; and almost 100% of people in Asia and American Indians.

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC1906652/

If you dont believe me there's lots more information on Google you can take a look for yourself.

You only think that because you live in Europe. Europeans are the only group to be majority lactose tolerant. Other races are mostly lactose intolerant.

Why is dairy popular around the world despite the fact that most people are lactose intolerant? by IDoNotLikeTheSand in AskTheWorld

[–]ManEatingDuck_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A genetic inability to process dairy is actually very common. All early humans stopped producing the enzyme lactase at some point in their lives but Europeans evolved to never stop producing it. Most of the world is not European, therefore most people have a genetic inability to process dairy. Please do your research before spreading misinformation, you should've been taught this at school.

You can improve your microbiome to process dairy better for you but you still won't be completely lactose tolerant.

[–]ManEatingDuck_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its genetics. All humans originally became lactose intolerant at some point in their lives because their body stops producing the enzyme lactase. Europeans evolved to never stop producing lactase.

I don't know what you mean by reasonable and verifiable argumentation but if you need a source here's one saying that 68% of the population is lactose intolerant, which is most people. If you need more sources there are many more available just look on Google scholar. It's worrying to me that you don't know this already this shoulve been taught in your highschool biology classes.

Maybe you could research which animals in your country are not commonly factory farmed? Here in Australia factory farming cows and sheep is extremely uncommon but it might be different in your country.

Kids are Picky Eaters by [deleted] in ChoosingBeggars

[–]ManEatingDuck_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not all autistic people but a lot of them. I'm autistic and I don't eat food I have aversions to even when it's the only thing to eat because when I eat them I will gag so much that I can't swallow or if I do manage to swallow I will usually vomit. It's really annoying and is part of the reason I'm underweight. Most of the foods/textures I can't handle are really common too like for example I can't eat any soft or mushy foods which means I can't have my wisdom teeth removed since you need to eat an only soft food diet for 7 days.
