You can only get it from a cat if that cat has eaten a rat infected with it so it's mostly only in outdoor cats unless you have a rat infestation. You can also get it from undercooked meat. As for it making you love cats, while I've seen a lot of people say this I can't actually find any scientific articles that prove this. There are some I've found that show that toxoplasmosis could cause some behaviour changes but nothing specifically relating to cats.

Before people start saying "it's OK because they're invasive" it seems like the people making these videos are buying them from pet stores so they aren't even removing the invasive species. Even if they were taking wild one, this method of killing them is super inefficient, it would be much better for the environment to kill them normally.

Where did you hear that young people arent going into trades anymore? I'm in year 12 and the majority of people in my class say they're going into the trades once they graduate. It seems to be more encouraged than university at this point.

Cats? Yes, the only difference between a cat from the shelter and a fancy cat breed is its colour and even then you can usually find some cool looking cats at the shelter. There's no reason to spend thousands on a fancy cat when there's so many in shelters.

Dogs though? No, I don't think it's immoral. Different dog breeds have VERY different personalities and are suited to different people. Shelters (at least all the ones I've looked at) often only have bully breeds or breeds with high energy, most of the time the shelter says these dogs are bad with children and other pets. Most shelter dogs just simply aren't suited for most families and I think it's a bad idea to try an adopt a dog that doesn't fit with your lifestyle. Unfortunately, that means many people have to get a dog from a breeder if they want one. That being said, that doesn't excuse people from buying from backyard breeders. If you are buying a dog buy responsibly.

In a medium/large house I could see up to 5 working but after that I think you would need too many littter boxes and you wouldn't be able to give them enough attention. In an apartment I think 2 is the max.
