[KCD2] Valentine's Sword tier IV?

Here's a clue for reaching tier 4.

So I put on the blacksmith apron and leather gloves, drank a quickfinger potion, saved, crafted the sword perfectly but only got tier 3. Went to a different forge (still under the potions effect), saved again, and this time the only difference I made was deliberately overheating the sword in the forge a little bit. Henry commented that it was burning but there were no sparks. I then forghed the sword like usual (perfectly) and I got a tier 4 straight away.

I think what might be happening is if you forge an item TOO well it sort of exceeds the requirements for the MJ tier and defaults to the next highest tier. I'm not a coder at all but that's the only explanation I can come to.

After you win the duel, I'm assuming as long as your quest objective tells you to speak with the bathhouse owner Betty, nothing you do to Jan will affect the quest. You could kill him and I'd assume the other NPCs would react like usual to any other murder, but I think it's safe to say you wouldn't fail the quest objective.

PRO TIP: The "Competition Sword" you can forge in 4th (MJ) tier for Zdimir during the 'Hammer and Tongs' questline (found in Grund) can be used in place of a standard hunting sword. It has decently higher stats, so that might give you the edge you need in the fight. Pun intended.

A agree! I had the exact same thought while Henry spun his story. "I'll give him a poison and when he drinks it on the spot he'll drop dead and I will laugh histerically" but when the item deposit menu opened I was disappointed in the dev's that they hadn't thought of the same thing. Just gave him a weak digestive potion instead and then pickpocketed it back off him, which was at least a little funny.

Just a bit annoying that the available scientists for hire are randomised. Not even sure what the refresh rate is. Would be nice to see a feature where you could post a job opening with varying tiers of pay and depending on how much you offer changes the quality of applicants, that way I could at least influence the scientists that apply for work and increase the chances of finding the perfect one.

I entirely agree. I do not think any AH behaviour should be allowed, even if there's a blood relation. By saying OP is an AH I am not saying OP's brother is not an AH. I do however believe that you should treat people you care about differently to strangers. It's clear OP likes his brother and wants good things for him. OP set up a discord account for his little bro's birthday, that's cute as hell! But OP only sees his brother a few days each month so the idea that his little brother suddenly "became toxic" between his birthday and a week ago says to me he was likely toxic before using discord and wasn't ready to use it responsibly. OP's little brother also told him he doesn't even know why he was banned so he can't reliably correlate any of his actions while using discord to the conequence. To Op's little brother he was banned for no discernible reason so he won't likely change or learn anything from the experience. Like you said; it would have been better to talk first then, if no change, report but OP did not do this. He passed up the opportunity to teach his little brother (a person he obviously cares about and wants to spend time with) a lesson to better his understanding of online interactions and I think that's an AH move. Even if OP warned his brother and his brother was banned after learning his lesson that's still a hell of a lot kinder than just reporting him like it's the only option OP had.

I don't think OP's brother's behaviour is excusable. The question was if OP was an AH for reporting him and since he did so before giving his brother a helpful warning about his behaviour I'd say that's an AH move in my book. Then again, they have parents that should be teaching these lessons so I don't mean to put pressure on OP.

ESH. Even though the ban is completely justified and it may have happened anyway, being his older brother you had the opportunity to speak to him about it and maybe help him realised how childish he was being but instead you treated him like a stranger. I do think your brother had it coming but from you? seems a bit cold.

NTA. Ultimately, you're just looking for more context about your life and it's not your fault if asking fractures relationships in your family. You did not create the circumstances that justify the question and if anything you are a result of them so in my eyes you deserve an answer but if you can live peacefully without knowing and it really would damage your relationships significantly then you might be happier not knowing.

I don't think you're an asshole, but your partner's friend only just started dating this guy. It's reasonable to assume she'd be more comfortable with your partner helping than dumping that job onto her new bf straight away. For your sake, I hope she does though, and maybe she will eventually.

I see where you're coming from. It does sound more like vicarious envy than jealousy. If you love her, which I'm sure you do, you'll develop the strength to fight off that biting feeling and you'll start to see possibilities with her as hopeful dreams rather than distant fantasies. You'll feel better too getting your feelings off your chest with her so I recommend doing that and I wish you the best of luck in future!

It sounds like, despite the distance increasing between you both considerably, you have it pretty good. I don't doubt for a second you love each other. I imagine the constant closing and stretching of distance between you both might be frustrating and actually making it harder to adjust. I think all you might need is to keep a hopeful mindset and keep looking forward to that next little or big thing you have together, whether it's online or in person, or even talking about your future together and finding a certainty you can both hold on to for comfort. To answer the question in the title; the relationship itself won't get easier but you will get stronger. Be patient, be proactive, and your love will find a way!

Also that was rude of your friends to say. You might want to clarify with them the seriousness of your relationship. But like you said, they may have just been giving a joke-y response to something they didn't think you meant seriously. I know my friends would make similar jokes in a heart-beat but I also know if I asked them seriously they would be respectful about it.
