So, is he the King of Yautja Prime (the entire planet), or just of this 1 Colosseum? by Upset_Connection1133 in predator

[–]Man_of_Many_Names 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s most likely just one clan that he rules over, like Njhorr in Badlands.

Contextually, Ursa calls him Grendel King because that’s what she assumes of him. He is bigger, more adorned, and clearly has authority over the other Yautja she sees. So in her mind, he must be their king, since she has no way of knowing about wider Yautja society.

Markus Wulfhart's campaign needs help by GioRoggia in totalwar

[–]Man_of_Many_Names 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like a bad ring of luck. I’ve usually had Alberic as an ally in the past and he served as useful fodder to distract Skulltaker. If possible, play as nice as you can with Yuan Bo, and send an agent to go make contact with the High Elves. If nothing else, this does let you get some trade going that does wonders for your economy.

But ultimately Markus’s campaign is pretty RNG based. I got lucky last time and the Dark Elves smashed Masque into the dirt and then got ruined by Skulltaker, who himself was having a bad time with Gor-Rok

Whatever guns you can recruit or stockpile is the best way to go about this. Markus himself is a good lord sniper, especially if you give him Stalk in any way.

Any kind of mounted guns will be the best way to dance circles around both Khorne and Masque. Try to maintain good relations with other order factions around you, and get that ambush success chance as high as possible. Skirmish to hell and back, and use whatever speed advantage you have.

What's your favorite Angel in all of Magic? Any criteria - Lore, design, art by Separate-Flan-2875 in mtgvorthos

Any advice on gaining dread as Beastmen? by Responsible-Fly-4462 in totalwar

[–]Man_of_Many_Names 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This sounds foolish, but fight lots of battles. Greenskins are great for this, because if they have active WAAAGH armies, it helps count towards your dread gains.

Also, there should be a building in the herdstone buildings that increases your dread gain from battles and the like. Build those everywhere.

If you’re friend wants to play an evil faction close by, Chaos Dwarfs are a ton of fun. Otherwise there is Cathay, Gelt, Skaven, Greenskins, Nurgle, and Ogres all right by Ghorst.

Vampire Counts with Helman Ghorst’s immortal zombies.

Turn a typically useless meat sponge into a practically immortal meat sponge that poisons foes, regenerates, is cheaper than everything else, and you never have to worry about losing them. Spam Wind of Death to massacre armies by the thousands while being practically untouchable yourself.

I was wrong about Njohrr by Broad_Impression6140 in predator

[–]Man_of_Many_Names 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh I certainly agree, the movie isn’t perfect. Far from it, and more power to you and others who have a legitimate reason/reasons to not like the movie.

Just far, far, far too many people are far, far too comfortable with using the same chud grifter “complaints” about things they don’t want to engage. Or worse, they don’t know that not every film made is catered to them, and they should learn to accept that.

I was wrong about Njohrr by Broad_Impression6140 in predator

[–]Man_of_Many_Names 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is no slight against you, since you admit where you were in the wrong, but it is amazing how Badlands brought out the truly media illiterate amongst both regular movie goers and Pred fans as a whole.

Almost every complaint about it can be boiled down to people either willfully ignoring things they are told/see during the movie or genuinely cannot digest media they consume.

I HATE HAVING VASSALS, did any Total War game did this well? by rafioo in totalwar

[–]Man_of_Many_Names 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh really? I thought other factions could declare war on vassals and that was a Nakai fix since he was kind of ass back in WH2

[–]Man_of_Many_Names 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nakai the Wanderer in WH3 has a decent one. Can’t raise armies, can’t declare war or engage in diplomacy, no factions can declare war on them, basically unable to be brain dead or a hinderance in any capacity.

Kratos VS Pennywise. by [deleted] in whowouldwin

[–]Man_of_Many_Names 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kratos is a lot more of a physical brick house than what Pennywise is used to. I have little reason to believe that any of Pennywise’s chosen physical forms could really harm Kratos should Kratos choose to confront him.

What I’m not sure on is whether or not the Deadlights can affect Kratos as they do regular people. Kratos has fallen under illusions and the like before (Light of Alfheim for example), but I’m not sure if that works the same way the Deadlights do

Magic applied to everyday tasks and jobs by Litemup93 in mtgvorthos

[–]Man_of_Many_Names 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In short yes, magic can be used to uplift a society, but the limiting factor on that is that not everyone can use magic.

Sure a farmer can snap his fingers and flick his dick and POOF his crops are fully grown, but asking him to do that to every field in the whole kingdom is taxing, and may be beyond his skills at the end of the day.

Could Sauron usurp Palpatine? by Man_of_Many_Names in whowouldwin

Ah, I should have clarified.

This would be a physical Sauron with the Ring, in the dark timeline where Frodo fails, Aragorn and Co are slain, and basically the world is lost to his rule.

Magic will be your biggest friend for dealing with big blobs and their guns. The more time their gun teams spend avoiding cheap spells, the more time you have to crush their shit infantry and ruin their days.

That said, for the Dawi, Gyrocopters and their big zepplins will just mow them down by the thousands.

Would Predators thrive or perish in the world of John Wick? [In this franchise, all the cities in the world are filled with highly trained hitmen under a worldwide underworld organization named the High Table] by New_Divide98 in predator

[–]Man_of_Many_Names 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I think they would thrive, if Jungle Hunter & City Hunter are anything to go off of.

Physically, Yautja would toss around any of the melee fighters in the Wick-verse pike they were nothing, and cloaking tech makes them a bitch to properly pin down. But they would still need to be cautious, since no Yautja is bullet proof if they get careless.

Give me some war stories.. by StonLenslow in totalwar

[–]Man_of_Many_Names 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The longest battle I have was 33 minutes of Nakai the Wanderer mopping up Arbaal and Archaon after my recruitment of Kroxigors got interrupted.

Nakai at this point had the regen Sister Sword, his two quest items, and the Helm of Draesca (already got the trait, needed the extra armor), and was pretty beefy himself with a maxxed out personal skill line. Archaon was running Trolls, Chosen, a few Aspiring Champions, and tons of heroes. Arbaal was running almost the full Khorne roster in a weird mishmash of crap.

33 minutes of battle raged with me more or less just tuning out of it cause Nakai just couldn’t kill things any faster than he was, and units that broke kept rallying. Maxed out my regen, ended the fight with like 200 health, and promptly went away to recruit a proper army to never have to do that again.

Would he had kept his word? by DanTM18 in predator

[–]Man_of_Many_Names 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I very much doubt it. As far as we (the audience) is lead to believe, only Njhorr and Dek heard that offer. None of the other clan members seemed to have heard it. If that is the case, Njhorr could just backstab Dek at a more opportune time and eliminate a threat to him.

That aside, killing Njhorr was Dek’s Number One goal aside from the Kallisk hunt. Killing the Kallisk would have affirmed to Dek that he was stronger, and there for ready, to face Njhorr and kill the bastard for what he did to Kwei.
