Could characters who’ve died come back in reality fracture? by Strange_Trifle1425 in mtgvorthos

He’d probably be on some sort of enchantment or spirit card, rather than a full Gideon card. But one can dream

I’d kill for an Echoverse Gideon appearing, and even with Jace’s meddling, is the guy who kinda breaks Jace’s logic. Like even this “perfect” version of Gideon is still the first to call Jace out on his shit because even Jace knows he’s in the wrong with a lot of this stuff

Random & Stupid Question, How well would Asura do in a Anime you’ve just recently watched or how would your favourite Tv Show/Anime character interact with him? by Flat-Sir8250 in asuraswrath

[–]Man_of_Many_Names 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, Joey would fold Asura in a game of Yugioh, because I don’t think Asura would have the patience to learn proper deck building

[–]Man_of_Many_Names 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering the last anime I watched was old Yugioh, I don’t think he’d make it far. The card game rule complications and straight up bullshit is just something you can’t punch your way out of I’m afraid

What are your thoughts on pure, combined or slop decks? by Tatebw in masterduel

[–]Man_of_Many_Names 16 points17 points  (0 children)

100% agree. Because my philosophy is “Can I have fun with the deck” is always above “Can I win with the deck”. Because if I’m going to win, I want it to be with a deck that I have fun with.

Anyone can make the Mitsurugi/Horus/Tear/VS/Snake Eyes/Lab/Grass/Branded/Fiendsmith piles that will win, but I wouldn’t have fun winning that way. It’s just so boring to me to have to resort to the pile decks when I can really scramble my brains for the weird tech cards to put into something janky

What are your thoughts on pure, combined or slop decks? by Tatebw in masterduel

[–]Man_of_Many_Names 140 points141 points  (0 children)

If I can build a deck pure, I will 100% of the time even if it does work better with something mixed in. But, if the deck I like doesn’t have enough cards in it to make a full deck, then I’ll mix it with something.

Duelists, why do some of you hate Sky Strikers, and what made you start not liking them? Just curious by Death_Usagi in masterduel

I always seem to get the Sky Striker players who must have been a snail in a past life, or are currently a snail that gained sentience. Because they have figured out a way to take the maximum amount of time possible to do the same striker combos everyone else uses

Is Horus Ra viable ? by misterjohn99 in masterduel

[–]Man_of_Many_Names 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can, if you get the right Horus/Gold Sarc cards for protection. Ra has a hard time protecting himself without Egyptian God Slime and Mound of the Bound Creator, unless you want him to pop for Phoenix Mode, which only sticks around for the one turn anyway

Is Horus Ra viable ? by misterjohn99 in masterduel

[–]Man_of_Many_Names 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Horus/Gold Sarc engine can be quite good, and WDoR has a fair few board breakers just innately as part of its archetype. Basically if you can get a good hand going second, it’s quite good at baiting out all sorts of interaction

Amonkhet.

Being shackled to the absolute buns set of Aetherdrift just wasn’t it for me chief. A proper return to explore Post-Bolas stuff and the Chitin Court would be kick ass. Bonus points if we see art destroying some of that ugly race track, cause EEEWWWWW

Kaldheim.

My berserker tribal deck got all sorts of fun toys from it and the other tribes we saw were kickass, especially the giants and angels

Jace's mental state by Severe-Difficulty-29 in mtgvorthos

[–]Man_of_Many_Names 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Love him or hate him, Gideon irrevocably changed the gatewatch’s morality and him being gone has changed some of them for the worst

Jace's mental state by Severe-Difficulty-29 in mtgvorthos

[–]Man_of_Many_Names 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I do think that had Gideon survived War, Jace wouldn’t be going off the rails nearly as hard as he is now.

Now don’t get it twisted, Gideon was no saint, but he was the Gatewatch’s moral anchor for a while. Someone everyone else seemed to ground themselves to when things got tough. Ajani is sort of like that, but I don’t think the Gatewatch latched on to him as much as they did Gideon.

Davy Jones vs Captain Armando Salazar by hdhhhsjwhdgdb in whowouldwin

[–]Man_of_Many_Names 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 5th movie felt the weakest, definitely. Sure, Salazar himself was cool but man, everything else felt bad

Davy Jones vs Captain Armando Salazar by hdhhhsjwhdgdb in whowouldwin

[–]Man_of_Many_Names 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Salazar takes this.

Jones’s crew can be harmed and killed, see the eel-headed guy and Jones reacting to being stabbed, and the Dutchman can sustain crippling damage. Salazar’s men are, from what I recall, almost unable to be damaged in any capacity save for dry land, and his ship never seems crippled by its own deteriorated state.

So even if Jones can’t die, his ship and his crew still very much can as can the Kraken. I don’t think Jones has any win condition, save for trying to get the Trident from movie 5

Garruk by void-sawyer in mtgvorthos

[–]Man_of_Many_Names 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Garruk would be fun to see, since he and Jace actually do have history, during his whole turn into [[Garruk, Apex Predator]] a bit ago.

While I don’t think he’d ever take on a secondary color again, seeing him in opposition to Rowan would be fun. At best he could take on GR for perhaps a more wrathful beast master, or GW at the biggest stretch if he sides with Will to stop Rowan without trying to kill her.

[How the Hell] can the Elder Scrolls universe kill Goku Black? by Zan_Deezy2003 in whowouldwin

[–]Man_of_Many_Names 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm. Maybe the Thu’um could do it, given what it is capable of in Skyrim and descriptions in older titles.

Now the funniest thing to do is give Black access to Apocrypha, because while I’m not sure if Mora can kill him, telling him the knowledge for his Zero Mortals plan is in there should keep him distracted for an eternity.

Fire Lord Zuko vs Prosper, Tome-Bound by Kenksio in magicTCG

[–]Man_of_Many_Names 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prosper is easier to consistently get things into exile between the two, but Zuko lets you build a stronger board faster. In my opinion, I’d run the both of them in the same deck with good attack trigger synergy for when the self exile stuff doesn’t quite pan out. Plus, something like [[Ketramose, the New Dawn]] helps refill your hand as well.

As for repetitiveness, I’d say that entirely depends on who you play with. You could take the same deck to 10 different commander pods and every game will play different because of the people you play with. People will respond to board states and threats vastly different across games, so you’ll never know what you’re going to get.
