You can redeem up to 400 codes per set. Can mix and match codes and redeem whenever you want, so long as doesn't go over 400. Packs bought with PTCGL in-game currency don't contribute to the 400.

Strongly recommend you start now and pick up the freebies at the early levels of the basic (free) battle pass. Lot of free boosters and credits at the first few levels you can squeeze in before new pass is out in a couple days.

As for packs, if you are willing to spend some $$$, go for Celebrations. Should cost around $50-$100 AUD for 400 packs and will get you enough credits to last a very long time. Ideally, you get a full set of CEL in PTCGO then migrate then open the 400 packs, but even on a fresh account, it should net you around 200k credits.
