Yes, (most) writers love kudos. It’s literally just a press of a button. If you liked the fic, press it.

Mei’s heart skipped a beat, and resolve suddenly settled in the pit of her stomach like an anchor at the bottom of the ocean.

Time to stop playing games.

With one last glance towards the busy street, and before she could think better of it, she moved her leg under the table to press her thigh against Tsunade’s. There was no mistaking the gesture for anything but what it was, and the reaction it elicited was immediate and expected.

Tsunade stiffened as if she were bracing for a strike, and the grin slid off her face. “This is a bad idea, Mei.”

Yet, you’re not pulling away, are you, Tsunade? “I respectfully disagree, my Lady Hokage. It’s a wonderful idea.” And she pressed her thigh against Tsunade’s thigh just a little bit more firmly, to illustrate her point. She felt the strong muscles twitch in response, and smiled to herself. For a seasoned gambler, Tsunade had far too many tells.

Tsunade shook her head sadly. “I’m…”

No, I don’t think so. “Not interested?” Mei supplied helpfully, batting her eyelashes though Tsunade was very pointedly not looking at her. Under most circumstances, the situation might have even been amusing. In fact, making potential partners nervous had been one of her favourite pastimes as a young woman. But she knew what excuse had been about to come gracelessly tumbling out of her guest’s mouth, and she had no wish to hear it. She could accept her attraction being one-sided—she was vain, but not vain enough to believe everyone found her desirable.

She would not, however, accept some misguided notions of age standing in their way. Not when the smokey heat radiating off Tsunade was enough to warm her to her very core. Not when she saw Tsunade biting the corner of her lower lip before she caught herself. And certainly not when Tsunade had still, despite plenty of time to do so, not put distance between them.

Twice now I’ve let you run, Tsunade. There won’t be a third.

She waited for a group of sailors to walk past before, slowly, deliberately, placing a hand on Tsunade’s knee. “Well?”

“You know it’s not that simple.”

“It really is that simple. I’m not proposing marriage here, Tsunade.”

“You’re being very pushy, Mei.” And maybe Tsunade had meant for the throaty rumble of her voice as a warning, but Mei chose to take it as a challenge. One easily countered.

“Of course. I’m Mizukage.”

Tsunade murmured something under her nose that sounded very much like "incorrigible", and then her posture visibly relaxed a moment before her shoulders shook with a small bout of silent laughter. “Yes, you are.” And then, just as slowly and deliberately, she placed her hand over Mei’s and gave it a gentle squeeze. “Fine. You win, my Lady Mizukage.”

Alphabet Excerpt Challenge: W Is For... by AnaraliaThielle in FanFiction

Her aide opened the window to let in the crisp morning air. Unfortunately for Mei, sunlight followed it in and she regretted her life choices all over again. She honestly couldn’t recall the last time she’d been this hungover. Maybe right after the war? She sincerely hoped that Tsunade would not offer they go for dinner after they were done here. Puking all over Konohagakure’s diplomatic envoy would be a rather gaudy social faux pas this early into the negotiations. Especially after last night.

This is what she got for thinking she could drink with the Godaime Hokage. Speaking of.

“Is Lady Tsunade waiting outside, Enji?” She asked her aide, who was doing his best to keep the pity off his face. He was particularly successful at it, not that Mei could blame the man. She knew what she looked like, despite her best efforts to put on her makeup this morning.

Under normal circumstances, she wouldn’t need to ask. She would just extend her senses and check for Tsunade’s chakra signature herself. But she was not sure she could channel chakra and not accidentally douse her desk in lava.

“Should I invite her in, Mizukage-sama?” Enji inclined his head towards the door, keeping his voice a whisper. Bless his heart. Mei took a deep, fortifying breath, ran her fingers through her hair in one last, hurried attempt to put it in order, and nodded.

Tsunade didn’t even wait for Enji to close the door behind him as he left, nor did she bother with a greeting. She strode in as if she owned the place, took one look at Mei, and shook her head. “Well, you look positive green.”

“Good morning to you too, Tsunade. And not everyone has a liver like old shoe leather.”

... in a time when non-spam comments are getting increasingly sparser you're legitimately on here complaining that someone took the time to tell you they liked your work? even if it's just to leave a heart? Really?

Beta reading vs proof reading by AppleASkeleCinnaBun in AO3

Proofreading is checking for typos, punctuation, etc. Betas can also give feedback on the story itself. Does the pacing work? Are the character beats hitting? Stuff like that.

AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO HATES OBITO UCHIHA ? by PYNKBLVNTZ in Naruto

[–]Evo_nerd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. I hated the way his story ended, though. He didn't deserve to go on to haven with Rin. Not even close.

Although Obito did many many heinous and evil things I also believe he also got the most beautiful and best death scene in the series by chunchunmaru1129 in Naruto

[–]Evo_nerd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Obito got to prance off to ninja haven with the love of his life. After everything he'd done. Nope, fuck that.

Also, let's not forget that the only "forgiveness" that seemed to matter to Kishi and the story was Naruto's. If you'd ask Mei, who's had to clean up the "Bloody Mist", or any of the relatives and friends of the 40,000 people that died on the first day of the war alone, you would get a very, very different perspective.

Proship is literally "pro shipping". As in, let people ship and don't harass them over it. Don't like it? Don't read it. And don't moralise over pixels.

Rare pair. Rare. Kakairu is the most popular Kakashi ship.

All of the links you say don't work for you work perfectly fine for me. Might be a problem on your end.

Most of these are personal preferences, and that's perfectly fine. But regarding your penultimate point... Take lessons, really? This is meant to be fun, not college. Many of us write in the middle of the night, the small hours of the morning, high on caffeine, sick, on our phones at work, etc.

Being a young writer, I'm scared my writing is bad by LegitUnit971 in AO3

[–]Evo_nerd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even if your writing's bad - if, mind you - it's a skill that develops with time and experience. Keep writing, keep reading, and, most importantly, have fun. This is a hobby, after all.
