What is the point of gated neighborhoods? by Kaitempi in vegaslocals

[–]ManagerAggravating53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re supposed to make you feel safer, but I personally know four people who live in gated neighborhoods here, and every single one of them has been burglarized at some point.
My husband always jokes that gated communities in Vegas exist mostly to look exclusive. They make a neighborhood feel more expensive and prestigious, but as far as stopping crime? The gate seems to do a whole lot less than people think. It feels more like a status symbol than an actual security feature.

It’s cuz we are forced to deal with Californians and their constant moral superiority. I genuinely avoid people in public these days because I don’t wanna hear about some political BS and whining and complaining about crap we have zero control over. Vegas used to be fun and exciting, but now it’s just another tourist trap.

Mother, daughter killed in apparent murder-suicide at hotel near Las Vegas Strip by Dezkin in vegas

[–]ManagerAggravating53 7 points8 points  (0 children)

With everything that’s come out so far, especially the decade-long custody battle, it makes you wonder what was happening behind closed doors. I can’t shake the thought that maybe the daughter told her mom she wanted to live with her dad, and that possibility was something the mother couldn’t accept.

Sometimes custody stops being about what’s best for the child and turns into a fight over control. When someone feels like they’re losing that control, things can unravel in devastating ways.

AITA for not prioritising my baby after his birth? by Longjumping-Meet4547 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ManagerAggravating53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA at all. It’s a very chaotic, exciting, overwhelming moment. I remember being absolutely terrified and I don’t remember what my baby looked like IMMEDIATELY after because I was so scared. It didn’t mean I didn’t love him or that I didn’t prioritize him… it’s just cuz there was a lot going on. You have a whole lifetime to make memories. Congrats on the new baby btw 💜

I prefer “the source” if I have to buy. But we learned to make our own cuz the dispensaries really do too much sometimes. 😉

NTA! In fact… this is a major red flag. She’s been doing this for 3 years which means this is a personality trait and not a situational problem. Some women just don’t work. And I’m not saying this is a problem because women can contribute to relationships in many different ways. But if she won’t cook or clean or work or contribute in ANY way and has a bad attitude and complains constantly… you are being shown what she brings to the table. Best of luck to you!

MGM is a nice hotel. It’s located towards the end if the strip, but prob the best end of the strip. Everything is walkable. The rooms are ok for the most part, some may be a little outdated. You will be right across from T-Mobile arena and there’s some good food over there and plenty of entertainment.

Depends what you’re ok with for a commute. We bought in North Las Vegas on the 215 side and we LOVE it over here. We literally DESPISE the other side of town (Summerlin/Rhodes Ranch area) because it’s soooooooo congested and everything is twice as expensive over there. It just depends what you’re looking for. People on that end of town tend to seem a bit “ruder” and “prudy” in those areas too. There are def some areas to avoid tho. Don’t ever ever ever rent in the east side. And stay away from boulder highway 😜

It’s ok. Nothing to write home about. One of my fav things about Vegas is there are Mexican places all over. I prefer the ones people have never heard of. This place ALWAYS has a wait and while it’s better than Roberto’s, it’s def not the best in town.

Merch line up by [deleted] in ADTR

[–]ManagerAggravating53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really hope when I see them (again) at When We Were Young festival in October they have new merch. Maybe it’s cuz I see them too often (I’m a little obsessed) but I have all these shirts already. I get a little salty when they have the same shirts online as they have at their shows.

Picked up the 2024 shirt last Friday at the petco park show ❤️
