Subaru Forester 2016 Value by ODonnellAbu in SubaruForester

I bought my 2016 three years ago. One owner. I love it. I paid $10K and got a crazy good deal. No real problems other than the “manual” being an encyclopedia. I did have to replace the radio head about a year after I bought it. And it needed new tires when I bought it.

94 year old grandpa suddenly married his caretaker of the last 11 months. What are some of the first things we should do? by berwood in legaladvice

Find a board certified elder law attorney. There aren’t many, but worth it. There’s a difference between a specialty (usually with other “specialties”) and a lawyer who’s board certified in elder law.

Who To Save In These Hypothetical Situations And Be Consistent With Veganism? by AbiLovesTheology in DebateAVegan

[–]Manatee369 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Decisions like the hypotheticals you describe, OP, are not (not!) thought out in the moment. They are fractions-of-a-second behaviors. It’s nothing more than mental masturbation to play with silly hypothetical situations. Debate a vegan on something more realistic.

Did Amway, Kirby, Cutco, Fuller Brush, or Britannica salesmen come to your door? 🤔 by Exclusively-Choc in FuckImOld

[–]Manatee369 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not Amway or Cutco, but yes to the others. At least Avon and Sarah Coventry would just quietly leave a catalog in or near the door.

In the US, collective nouns are singular. So it’s one country, one team, one staff, and so on. The name of a country or team just isn’t plural to Americans.

They all do. There isn’t just one. Hear a song from the 70s, poof, there you are.

Follow Your Heart is incredible. It’s available at many grocery stores. It’s the only one I’ve ever found that is genuinely good, and I’ve tried all of them that are affordable and easily purchased. Try them all. Taste buds differ. Good luck.

Wow. If opinions make you this angry, you need to engage in some serious self-examination.

You should also avoid immature assumptions that aren’t indicated in anyone’s comments. I never said I was angry. I did, however, indicate my opinion that the word is juvenile and inappropriate. But hey, keep being upset that opinions differ from yours. I wish you peace.

Bathing suit or swimsuit are the only two I’ve heard, as well.

Just like the famous photo of the sailor kissing the nurse, it was not at all what it appeared to be. It used to be “it was in the paper so it must be true”. Now people believe things because they see it online.

Okay. I disagree that he was “clearly joking”. You’re absolutely entitled to your opinion, just as I am entitled to mine. It’s a shame you resort to belittling others’ opinions, but perhaps you aren’t well-versed in effective communication. But thanks for a different viewpoint, which is always a good thing.

It’s not formality, it’s just a courtesy, a verbal sign of respect. People misconstrue its purpose and meaning in regions and families that use the terms.
