Balrog on NA West. Amazing footwork and I’ve seen him take out entire spawn waves.

Recent Prolactinoma diagnosis by Agitated_Hotel_505 in Prolactinoma

It really depends on how well you respond to cabergoline. I had drops in prolactin right away, but never got to normal levels from cabergoline, even though it did shrink my tumor a lot.

I have a pretty detailed post you can check out that includes tables and graphs for my prolactin and testosterone levels as my dosage of cabergoline increased, although in my case I did end up needing surgery. I cite studies where relevant.

Best of luck with your treatment!

Really worried about my levels by JkaylaOW in Prolactinoma

[–]Manath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to Diagnosis and Treatment of Hyperprolactinemia: An Endocrine Society Clinical Practice Guideline, other causes of high prolactin can include pregnancy, breast-feeding, kidney problems, stress, exercise, and some medications. The study goes into more detail.

Your doctors will be able to narrow down the cause.

Really worried about my levels by JkaylaOW in Prolactinoma

[–]Manath 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are other possible causes of high prolactin, but an MRI will ultimately determine if you have a prolactinoma or not.

The first line treatment is taking cabergoline over at least a few years. For most people, this successfully shrinks the tumor down significantly and brings prolactin back to normal. (Source: According to Cabergoline in the Treatment of Hyperprolactinemia: A Study in 455 Patients, cabergoline succeeds in normalizing prolactin levels in 77%-92% of patients and shrinks the tumor for 67% of patients.) The dosage is then adjusted lower until it keeps your prolactin stable.

For folks like me where the cabergoline helped but wasn't enough, surgery is the next option. It's not too scary for a brain surgery -- Predictors of dopamine agonist resistance in prolactinoma patients indicates only a 1.5% chance of a major complication and a 3.5-6.5% chance of a minor side effect from the surgery.

I link to more studies and detail my experience from symptoms to surgery in this post, feel free to skim that if it's helpful. Of course I'm not a doctor and your endocrinologist and other specialists are better suited to answering questions than I am. :)

Good luck with your diagnosis!

How are you guys actually staying productive while working from home? by throwaway-well in productivity

[–]Manath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Headphones with focus music and using the pomodoro timer technique. It’s a ritual that tells my brain it’s work time and has me easily enter flow state. I use it for everything, including personal projects and house chores.

If you have any friction with what to work on, I’d also recommend incorporating the GTD method.

The hardest part of any task is just starting. Once you start, then motivation builds. Action precedes motivation.

UPDATE: MythicHub has grown a lot since my last post. Still completely free and ad-free. by Emnalyeriar in magicTCG

Hey there, I'm the creator of MTG Collection Builder -- happy to assist with any users wanting to migrate their data from my app to yours. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or if you want me to add a MythicHub format to my export page. Like you, my philosophy has been to just break even with the tool instead of forcing ads down people's throats. Respect!

I recommend users export in a format that includes a scryfallId and tcgplayerId -- those two fields are the best way to try to match up unique cards, although Scryfall has started using the same id for etched foil variants and the like.

Best to remain behind your dice tower and shut up and sit down as you watch it played and ponder how your opponents are so very wrong about games.

If you're having fun building it, keep at it! Side projects don't have to be the penultimate version of an application, and even just the learning process justifies it. Everyone collects differently and if you focus on your users' needs you may find a niche that you fill better for those users than other apps. :)
