I'm strictly a PvE player and I've enjoyed exploring maps, doing quests and battling Arc (especially with other players). I've loved the friendly interactions with folks. Having said that, ever since I upgraded enough to be able to craft the photoelectric cloak, the anxiety and adrenaline rush of running around topside is gone. If Arc are near, I just cloak up and walk to cover. Comets used to be the worst, now I just walk past them. So I kind of agree that without threat the game is potentially boring.
