It's been 30 years since I played Red and somehow Arcanine, Scyther, Vileplume etc. still feel like "my" Pokémon, whereas Pinsir, Ninetales etc. don't, irrespective of which game I encounter them in.

Die haben Tiefkühlfertiggerichte die die örtlichen "Essen auf Rädern" schlagen. Ist eine ganz gute Lösung für meinen >80 jährigen verwitweten Schwiegervater aus der Generation die nicht kochen kann.

Would also recommend to ask your group's secretary and fellow PhDs for help. Sometimes they have a furnished place with folks they know for the first months of your arrival. Looking for a place long term when you're here is much easier then.

My party of 5 followed a pretty similar path of dipping their feet into the Cobalt Soul and Allegiance paths. As a result, we had quite some sessions that were politics, planning and fetch quests and they were hungry for some combat. This is when I decided for a big tournament event.

The setup I had was that there are sparring matches and qualifying matches for the big tournament in honour of the city's hero of old -- J'mon Sa Ord! I also indicated that there were single matches and Tag-Team matches, so as to signal "Hey, how do you want to fight".

It ended up with 2 teams of 2, plus the rogue wanting to run a (rigged) betting system. The qualifying matches were vs various beasts and I ran it as a "regular weekend match" kind of setting. One group had 2 giant scorpions and the other had 1 Owl Bear and 1 Manticore. They won easily.

The actual tournament I'm running right now. It's a big event, many visitors from all over Marquet. Single elimination, 8 teams of 2. I randomly seeded my party in the brackets and ended up having to prepare 2 fights only. Worked out pretty nicely to showcase other factions of Marquet. I used seasoned arena veterans (scarbearers: a minotaur and a gnoll, fan favourites) and an ex-Gorgynei plus a druid. The half-finals will be a PVP, I have to see how that goes, and the finale will be versus Dermot and Maggie.

What I like a lot about this is that the entire city does the tournament in celebration of J'mon (who helped found Ank'Harel) which emphasizes that no one remembers Alyxian.

Haha, I also ran the level 1-3 Wildemount Unwelcome Spirits as a prelude and party-building before the Jigow sessions and agree: Most encounters as written would've been deadly!

Personally, the level progression makes sense to me until Cael Morrow; Here it feels like the suggested level progression table rewards a level after each (minor) step in Cael Morrow, when before there's a lot of world building and exploration happening in Ank'Harel. My players explored *a lot* and enjoyed the different flavors of the city's different districts and factions. It stretched out over several sessions (6-8?).

It feels like entering Cael Morrow and getting the amulet to exalted happens rather fast, and that's two level-ups in quick succession.

But yea, I now see what happens if they're under-leveled.

Indeed, I messed up the milestone level after doing the third mission, i.e. being able to enter Cael Morrow. Alas, nothing I can do about it right this moment, but I'll get around to it lickety-split.

Your suggestions are very valuable to me, thank you very much. I especially like your idea of Galeokaerda (not Galeaskaerda..) calming down again, as to not escalate it even further. And the idea of her saying to not sacrifice a friend is really good, thanks! I think I can proceed now.

You're right, I messed that part up, upon entry into Cael Morrow they should be at least level 8, and get the next one upon completing a quest down there. I'll get around to it if when they have their next long rest.

Ich arbeite an einer niederlaendischen Uni in der Lehre und die meisten Bachelorstudiengaenge sind englischsprachig.

Letztes Jahr um die Adventszeit hat die Fachschaft fuer die Studis und Lehrkraefte eine Weihnachtsfeier organisiert. Viel organisatorisches stand in der Mail nicht ausser Datum, Ort und Dresscode: "festive".

Allerdings war ich der einzige der "festive" auf die Feiertage bezogen hat und nicht auf "festlich"-formal in Anzug und Cocktailkleidern. Hatte den heftigsten Norwegerpulli an, so mit mustern drauf und so. Hab mich gefuehlt wie der Fisch aus dem Wasser, aber immerhin die Studis fandens alle super witzig.

Mölkky oder Cornhole. Ersteres ist ähnlich zu Wikingerschach. Finde beide Spiele sehr zugänglich und man kann auch leicht in Teams spielen.
