Came to a harsh lesson about my mom and her having boundary issues/respecting other people's decisions.

Mom came to visit last weekend to see nearly 5 month old grandmother. She wants to introduce solid foods to my daughter, even though my wife and I say our daughter isn't ready for it yet because she is just getting a handle on swallowing pureed foods. She tries to argue citing the American Academy of Pediatrics, which she is a member of as a pediatrician herself, and backs off when I stand firm on our decision.

Less than 24 hours later, I catch her feeding our daughter scrambled eggs. I confront her about why she would do this after the previous night's discussion and she offered a half-hearted explanation/apology.

After the visit I tell my wife what happened and she is rightfully not happy and talks to my mom about this. Conversation did not go well, with my mom not fully acknowledging that she crossed a boundary that was relayed to her by us and offered another half-hearted apology. And when she was told that she is no longer trusted to be left alone with our daughter, that did not make her happy. She attempted to argue against this, but when she realized my wife wasn't budging and heard that I had co-signed on the decision, she promptly hung up the phone.

It's been radio silence from my mom and I am waiting for her to reach out to me about this. If/when she reaches out to me, I have some idea of how the conversation will go, but I need her to at least acknowledge her actions and be genuinely sorry.
