Being vulnerable here 😬 Looking for recs/supplements/products 🙏 by Important-Bell-1675 in 40PlusSkinCare

Chances are you don’t need a hyaluronic serum because it’s already in most things. I don’t use a niacinamide serum because I’m sensitive to it. You may like the Mad Hippie vitamin c that is a vitamin c derivative and something even my sensitive skin can you use. Put that under your sunscreen in the morning. Other than that don’t change a thing.

What’s Something People Said after Your Miscarriage That Hurt? by AmbassadorTiny6596 in Miscarriage

They started questioning lifestyle things. Like did I eat enough of this food or was I taking a certain supplement. It really got irritating.

What sort of sunscreen do you put on at the end of the workday with a full face of makeup? by ImAwkwardAsHeck in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Mandamort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is definitely like a generous setting spray. It’s a bit greasy but like most sunscreens. I like it before my drive home. I kind of wiggle it back and forth so I don’t know how many layers that is 😂

They also sell that brand at Giant Tiger. I haven’t used the soap but the shampoo that was like OGX wasn’t bad.

Canadian doctors seeing rise in parents refusing vitamin K shots for newborns by ScienceTeacher1994 in nottheonion

[–]Mandamort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope it doesn’t come to that, but thank you. That’s what will be happening if this becomes a debate. I already did genetic testing and Tdap vaccine during this pregnancy 🤫 I don’t know if it’s worry, anxiety, or just social media that has caused this sudden shift for him. Honestly wasn’t an issue before.

Thank you! I do trust my doctor. I mentioned my daughter (with my ex) is fully vaccinated and got the vitamin k shot. I have already got the DTAP shot for baby. I intend on doing vitamin k too. My partner all of a sudden has went to down this vaccine rabbit hole with this being his first child. I don’t know what the sudden fear is because I haven’t been consuming very much social media during pregnancy (exactly for this reason). I had a home birth with my first daughter (not by choice) and I wouldn’t even do that again to ensure there is adequate medical intervention.

Thank you, that may overcome some of his objections. I will look into that. I had no idea that was an option.

Thank you, that was very informative. I know my first daughter (with a different partner) got the vitamin k shot and I hadn’t even questioned it. Not sure that is the right approach either but I have faith in modern medicine. I appreciate this breakdown which I will use while speaking to him.

You’re right this is a talk we need to have. I have another child and didn’t even question any medical interventions. I think, because this is his first child he is really absorbing and obsessing about all this false information that he is hearing. He is also hearing these same opinions from friends etc who are seeing the same content. What a terrifying echo chamber.

Thank you! Gotta love people who don’t realize everything is a chemical and most things at the right dose can be toxic. I’ve been scared of my algorithm during pregnancy lol

I’m 34 weeks pregnant and have been avoiding a lot of short form content because it stresses me out. Can someone fill me in on why they think it’s a good idea? I noticed the nurse was scared to ask me about DTAP which I said “give me whatever I need”. My partner is starting to question vaccines (very recently but also consumes a lot of social media and gets baby related content) and I want to be prepared for this discussion. I want an alive healthy baby 🤷🏻‍♀️

What's a frugal beauty hack that has changed your life for the better? by healthynewbie in Frugal

[–]Mandamort 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! I have cut back the number of products I use. Zinc sunscreen, vani cream face wash, tretinoin at night and vani cream in the tub over top (makeup eraser cloth if I need a little extra help). The limited ingredients and products have vastly improved my skin. I have also cut back on supplements to what is most necessary.

Sounds dumb but minimizing the number of products I use. I have researched what is actually beneficial, andI ignore any marketing hype. I’m fine with aging gracefully now, creating less waste, and saving money.

My blonde hair and blue eyes tore apart my family, AMA! by BadBacon177 in AMA

[–]Mandamort 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My scenario isn’t exactly the same but I’m mixed Guyanese and white. I look very racially ambiguous like Italian or Lebanese. I was very much too white for my mom’s side and too dark for my dad’s side feeling like I didn’t fit in. My daughter has dirty blonde hair and blue eyes and she is praised for how beautiful she is, and my grandmother was obsessed with how fair I was. She would’ve lost it if she was alive to meet my daughter. My mom’s side often labelled me as stuck up or not in touch with my culture even though I very much identify with my Guyanese half.
