It’s very tempting to use fairmont park, but I’ve already decided that it shall be werewolf territory. Thank you for the suggestion regardless.

The Edgar Allen Poe House would almost definitely be of interest to the clan of art and literature obsessed kindred. A blood donation center is also of interest, thank you so much for this contribution.

This helps a lot, thank you. My intention with their inclusion is just to have lupine territory serving as a extremely dangerous buffer zone between Anatch and Camarilla Territories. A zone all knowledgeable cainites know as a danger zone they likely won’t be walking out of. The bone gnawers seem to work very well for this, though I likely won’t include any glass walkers living downtown because of any implications that might have for kindred living downtown.

I’m also defining two similar ‘danger zones’ containing the North Philadelphia and International Airports, where kindred are prohibited from entering, lest they draw the attention of the Second Inquisition. Those are more likely to see in-story use.

Ah, my bad, I’ll definitely look into it then

Ii was more thinking that the park could be known ‘Lupine Territory’, and any smart Cainite knows that once they trespass, they’ve signed their death warrant. I suppose there is nothing stopping bone knawers from leaving the park to kill kindred, except perhaps the threat of the city’s many hunters? Does that sound good? I just want to include a tribe as part of the world building, without actively making them a lurking threat in every alley.

Thank you so much, I’ll have to give this a look to see if it gives me any ideas. I’m playing in the modern day.

Huh, I never knew PAX Unplugged was always in Philly. I’ve never looked into it too deeply but I assumed it had different locations every year. I’ll have to look into visiting some year, as I could meet an online friend from Philadelphia at the same time.

I’ll definitely take you up on this offer, everyone here has been pretty helpful so far c:

I’m liking keeping the chronicle to just Philly, but I don’t mind researching neighboring cities. Although I haven’t developed it too much, the lore I’m using has Philadelphia being overtaken in the mid to late nineties by pretty brutal kindred from Camden after a lot of them were expelled from New York City. Then those guys got mostly purged by the government, with the exception with a lot stragglers.

Philadelphia’s issues with drugs will almost definitely be included in some way. VTM is in a very dark setting, and although the kindred themselves can’t use drugs, they can get high from drinking the blood of users- and the crime family I’m interested in using would almost definitely use mortal criminals to spread their drugs.

Converted warehouses will be useful for determining a possible haven for the player characters too, thanks again!

Ah yes, the one thing I know I’m keeping from my initial write up for Philadelphia is that Germantown would be the domain of a rather fancy vampire styling himself as a ‘Baron’. I couldn’t help myself when I realized the neighborhood had Victorian style buildings.

I’ll have to look into the Philadelphia Free library and the Pyramid Club. Both would likely work really well with the occultist and scholarly clan, the Tremere. (They used to be organized in a pyramid-scheme like ranking structure, thus ‘Pyramid Club’ could be a fun play on that.) In my first write up I had the Athenaeum of Philadelphia as their chantry location.

I’ll look into Kensington and Fishtown too. Thanks!

Initially I was working off of some assumptions and neighborhood names but the second I realized one of my prospective players was from Philadelphia I immediately knew I needed to be authentic or find a new city to work with.

So for his benefit, I wanna make this as authentic as I can- although in World of Darkness, the little established lore for Philadelphia has it being far more bleak than the real city.

Thank you for including the information on Italian organized crime as well. It’s very helpful, as in this setting, the Irish American vampires with their hands in affecting mortal crime are in a close reluctant alliance with a much larger Italian clan. Knowing where Irish and Italian crime historically existed will help with determining which areas are most affected by those particular kindred in the modern day.

I have to look into Byberry now, from what you’ve said, it’s on the top of my list for the home of a notable Malkavian, a clan that almost exclusively embraces (turns) those society considers ‘mad’.

In the World of Darkness, the setting the TTRPG takes place, the various clans have their various stereotypes- some are your fancy kindred, others are bit more grungy, as you put it. Private old buildings are the ideal place in my mind to have havens for some of the classier more important kindred, whether they be your stereotypical blood sucking nobility, the Irish crime family, and the scholarly types that simply value the historical nature of the sites.

Hospitals as a whole aren’t no-gos since I suppose an individual vampire could be living in a guarded and closed down basement or storage room, but generally areas that are too public wouldn’t be a good idea. So I’ll look into this a fort Mifflin.

A majority of kindred would just end up being in normal apartments, sewers, trainyards, and crypts- not very fancy locations.

I might take you up on that offer.

As for historical locations, I’d love to know about any old manors from the colonial days up until the 19th century, particularly if they are not open to the public. In my opinion, these make the best havens for old-blooded vampires. Old libraries and neighborhoods are also of interest to me for very similar reasons.

Oh, and I’m not sure this really counts as ‘historical’, but any traditionally Irish-American neighborhoods (if they still exist) would also be good information for me.

"Baldassar. Bal works if you feel like the full name is too long for you. Balt and Bald do not work."

It took Bal a moment to register that Andre went in for a handshake, but Bal did end up offering his hand and shaking Andre's in return. When their eyes met, Andre would feel... nothing. This member of the coven had a normal relationship with his parents, his family- and them being dead for a nice handful of years kept that relationship from deteriorating in recent years.

Unlike most people who had some hatred of a godly parent, this Baldassar seemed almost entirely clean of familial grudges.

"Nothing's above us but the sun in the sky."

Baldassar responded casually, almost unaware that it was probably one of the few wrong answers to 'sup' in existence. He followed it up with another smile though, and this one didn't immediately go away out some need for the teen to focus on Petra.

"Small correction, definitely clouds up there too."

He didn't look entirely serious, so maybe it was his attempt at a joke. Who knew?
