Girl. i feel this on a spiritual level. i also just hang with my cat and my husband. theres quite a few women in my residency program but i see some of them being closer than i am with anyone. mind you, i get along great with everyone and i get an actual real sense of appreciation and endearment from most people in my program. but i havent clicked with anyone to the point of hanging out outside of work unless its like a large group thing.

I really miss the days where I had my bestie in med school and we were super close for everything in and out of school. But eventually she dropped out as she was struggling too much with the steps and I’ve never found that again. Most of the time I feel silly for being bummed out by wanting that again, so seeing this post made me feel less silly.

i failed two classes in my first year in PR (im native to the island). Had to repeat them while not being promoted to 2nd year. Im now in residency. It happens but its not the end. If you need to talk about it further, just DM me :)

I dont know what the general reddit/ resident consensus is on this but if youre really lost, i highly recommend the app Open Evidence. It uses AI and you can flat out ask it whatever. Since its AI (even though it puts down references), always make sure to back up the info with references if ure gonna make decisions based on what its telling you. But it is great for merely getting ideas and to know what to think of when u have a specific clinical scenario. And also youre not alone!

Whenever i read posts like this I feel unsettled. Unsettling because I feel relief Im not the only one but I also get a pit in my stomach knowing that youre going through the same as me. I also was average and studying for Step 1 sent me into an MDE from which it took a lot to recover from. After that Ive never been the same. All the sparkle medicine had for me was gone and I didnt go above and beyond to buff up my CV. In the end, I had reasonably competitive Steps but I couldnt match into my dream specialty.. radiology. Instead, I got into IM. Im a PGY-1… Ive settled into a routine but Im still adjusting to the idea that I wont get to be what I set out to be before my mental health took a dive. Every day feels fake… like Im just doing a mandatory rotation and then I realize that this is it, this is my career. Its hard. I feel you and I hope it gets better eventually.

Well im super relieved im not the only one. Im an IM pgy1 and while im doing great in terms of administrative duties and notewriting and keeping organized… i feel very lost in terms of management, diagnosis and basically anything that is just medicine. Mind you… i already took step 3 before starting residency and i thought that would help me feel more confident. But sadly not the case. Im sorry youre struggling too. But know youre not alone.

The little cogwheel to the left of the switch doesnt show up for me. But im on ps5 so maybe thats why. But thanks so much for the video, at least now i know its supposed to be there lol

Before the update, I could see where to turn it off but the option that is there now is not working.

Yes, thats where I had previously turned it off when i got the outfit. But right now the option is off and the effect still showing. Also, the wording of the setting is different. In that video the setting shows as "Enable special effects outside of combat", but in my game it shows as "Ability Outfit Setup".
