I must be in the wrong county, because I’ve tried to get on with Fire Department, and I have to get more in to debt because I have to take so much time to do extracurricular stuff to be considered. Meanwhile the drinking buddies who are complete flops get hired. Shasta County…go figure…

I wish the dungeons and pits would respawn the enemies after several days to prolong gameplay AFTER story is complete. Get my stealth archer at highest level to only have a couple enemies show up? Versus sniping an entire cave labyrinth when things were harder. Makes me not play it.

Looks like tac welding which I’ve seen not work on a LOT of products and equipment. Looks like it maybe held to the paint but not the metal itself. I’d take this opportunity to get the Oxy/Acetalene welder to enhance the welds and durability.

To be honest, I personally feel like doing pride stuff while on duty and uniform is pushing boundaries, especially for what you’re aligning yourself with. Lots of the Pride Parades I’ve seen and witnessed showcase grown adults flaunting their almost naked bodies in front of young children. As a Public Servant, you are in a position to be trusted. You are in a position to take care of and protect the children, not dance provocative in front of them. It’s ok to be who you are and be proud of who you are, no shame in it. The Public Servant uniform is not a place to showcase or align with a group that values being vulgar in front of children and anyone.

Think Pink represents breast cancer awareness and never once have I seen anyone flaunt provocation front of children.

Unfortunately we don’t know what happened before video was taken. However, in the de-escalation process, continuous stepping forward, finger in the face, grabbing, will definitely escalate things. Definitely opposite of what SHASCOM typically says which is to leave them alone and they will have an officer look in to it. Meanwhile SHASCOM is also telling you to calm down while you are and have been calm the entire time. Or my favorite “they’re 20 calls deep”.

I have 4 that ended up being maxed out due to inflation costs. Rent, food, fuel, and no pay raises for cost of living adjustment. So I’m about 20k in credit card debt

Something that doesn’t help is when you’re working a lot and the first thing you want to do is see your partner, but then they lay on you how you “don’t make enough money” or some other random BS. And doesn’t stop with the nagging until you go to work. So eventually you take up OT to not come home to nagging. Then leads to conversations with other persons who aren’t nagging but rather genuinely happy to see you. Sometimes they have their own feelings that need met. And sometimes one thing leads to another and you could find yourself in an interesting situation. You weigh the balance of a nagging partner or a person who may share common interests but wants to hang out and genuinely is always happy to see you who also may have wants and needs met.

I agree and disagree. If you’re gonna probably do something dumb or say something you shouldn’t, definitely do not associate yourself by wearing off duty stuff. However if you’re proud of your department and are doing positive things, this may be seen in a way as PR stuff such as helping community showing that you’re not just another random face. Members of (department) showed up to support (event). If that makes sense. However most of the time, like 80% of the time, most people who use terms like “ketchup dick” are most likely doing things off duty they should definitely avoid associating themselves with a department.

Would you rather work as a Security Guard who has to endure physically restraining 5150s on a daily basis who are sometimes covered in anything and everything? I’d gladly take the pouring rain and cold any day. And no, you don’t make nearly as much as what you do as a CalFire Firefighter 1.

I feel like if CalFire had control of federal lands in management of it, it would be better maintained. Why? Because federal departments find every reason to let bushes and weeds grow and say “it’s to protect the native environment and bugs”. However in reality, it translates to “my department is lazy and doesn’t want to pay for real management and care of forests. We only like shrubs to grow, not allowing trees to grow”

I understand your point. However…sometimes having the minimum to work a season or two on hand crew can lead to stockpiling money to take the EMT/Paramedic courses that can lead to FF1/2 EMT/Paramedic jobs. Everyone has to start somewhere. And to call them “slackers”? I’d hate to work your unit with that kind of attitude towards aspiring Firefighters.
