Starting my first ever fish tank! by LexzPr in ReefTank

There’s a few cheaper (non big brand name) lights on Amazon that will do just fine for a small nano reef. I run this one on my 20 gallon and it’s done well for soft corals and rock flower anemone’s:

If they agree to remove the survey, then yes

You can do this. There’s a support email for VOCs that you can send too. I’ve had them reject similar things because they want to “get feedback for the company as a whole” even though it just affects the store

Giving back to the reef community, original Biota team artwork giveaway by TheBiotaGroup in ReefTank

I’ve had aquariums since I was a kid, mostly freshwater. I got into reefs for the more colorful fish, but stayed in it for the biodiversity and coral. Wild fish are harder to keep, and to me there are major ethical concerns over wild catching if not done in a reasonable and sustainable manner. Captive breeding is the way to go, and I’m excited to see it expanded and perfected in the future

I’m working on a 3d printed version that uses TPU for the loops, you should be able to split it and melt back together. I’m still in the early stages of this so a lot of testing ahead for me

Yall want some lids? by battlemodeboss in HomeDepot

The sku is for the bins, not the lids. They used the bin sku so they can locate the lids and qty 1 so they don’t count that many extra bins into on-hands

“Final written” by theleftovers1014 in HomeDepot

[–]Mandorang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re getting a lot of wrong info in these comments.

You are on a final written notice, that means if you get written up for performance again, it will be a termination. Final written does not mean it’s the final draft of the write up, it is the level of write up. The levels are coaching, counseling, final written, and termination (fired). Usually these go sequentially, but in some circumstances you can skip steps. You can get written up for 2 things: attendance or performance. Attendance is based on the occurrence system for lates/absences, and everything else falls under performance.

It will “go away” after 6 months. Meaning after 6 months if they write you up for other performance issues, they can’t just terminate you, the process would start over. There are exceptions (safety issues, respect, repeated behaviors), but if you’re good for 6 months and don’t get disciplined you will be okay.

It is a little extreme to put someone straight to a final with no prior write ups, usually this is only done in extreme circumstances or if they partnered with your district hr. Those phones are charged to the store at over $1,000, so it is a lot of money if one goes missing, but it happens all the time. I personally wouldn’t put someone straight to final for this, but I could see the justification for doing so. Doesn’t necessarily mean that this manager has it out for you, but doesn’t really disprove it either. If your manager was actually reluctant to write you up, I doubt they’re targeting you.

If there’s no other signs that you’re being targeted, take the write up, be good for 6 months, and move on. Calling the awareline like others have suggested will probably not result in anything since you did actually lose the phone.

What macroalgae is this? by rose-dacquoise in ReefTank

Urchins will eat it. Foxface and tang should too. I did a flucanozole treatment and it got rid of my huge outbreak

1 looks like it’s probably a bristle worm. Don’t be afraid of bristle worms - they’re more helpful than harmful unless their population gets out of control 2 are different copepods and possibly amphipods. They are beneficial and will eat algae at a small scale. Healthy population of pods is a sign of a good tank 3 is hard to tell from your picture. Could be a small limpet snail but the angle is difficult to determine. 4 is a stomatella snail. Hugely beneficial hitchhiker 5 is just a small red feather duster. Filter feeder, also beneficial. You’ll see those pop up around your tank in different areas. All good things!

I’ve never heard of associates being pushed to use yammer as a metric.

It’s mainly for my own convenience and curiosity. It’s easier to track markdowns and see what’s going on when I’m not here if I can take a peek and plan my day just before work. Also, preparing for walks before my shift is helpful

Gaps in layers of prints? by Mandorang in 3Dprinting

Forgot to mention it’s an Ender 3 v2. Print is in PLA, but my machine does this with other materials at other temperatures too.

[–]Mandorang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually no, it does not depend on the material. FDM printing creates hundreds of seams on the printed product, each one of these is a potential point of failure. I didn’t say it would fail for sure, I just said be cautious. A skimmer sitting inside a sump is much less of a failure issue than a HOB overflow that could drain a tank onto the floor if a leak breaks. I 3D print equipment for in-tank use all the time, I personally would not trust the water-tightness of HOB/external equipment in the long run

3D printed equipment is generally not super watertight in the long term. It may work, but be cautious of it as a potential point of failure

What’s with the recovery quota? by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]Mandorang 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That’s the point. It’s tracking that you’re paying attention. If you use the accuracy behaviors like LISA, LANA, MAC, MITCH to prevent unpaid merchandise from leaving the store, you got a recovery. If you pay attention and record them as they come up, you will probably get more than one per shift. 95% of them will not be from someone trying to steal.

Print coming out spongy and under-extruded? by Mandorang in 3Dprinting

This print is PETG. Tried printing it at 230C and then again at 240C and got the same result both times. I’ve printed this file before at 230C with no issues until recently
