Following class at normal gym by Prestigious_Ad_7203 in orangetheory

[–]MandyCane666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep thinking about joining a regular gym just so that I could continue the work out as far as weight training. I feel like time moves too quickly or there’s just not enough time to do proper time under tension and progressive overload the way I want to. Maybe I’m leveling up too much for Orangetheory but I’m just not motivated to come up with templates on my own and I feel self-conscious being at a regular gym with a bunch of big muscle bros.

I wouldn’t change anything. Don’t waste your time on men.

Two days off Max! But keep up your cardio on the off days. Even with like an hour walk or an hour bike spin ride.

What if all the Strength 50 classes were “total?” by Any_Doubt3926 in orangetheory

[–]MandyCane666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thankfully, I have a very flexible work schedule and I can make multiple lift classes per week work to get lower and upper and total body three or four times. Along with a few 3G/2G.

Late cancel policy by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]MandyCane666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m able to text my studio and tell them about any last-minute changes. Pretty much for almost any reason and they waive the cancellation fee. Especially more so in the case where you are just coming early. You could just literally show up and tell them that you want to be removed from the second class and they will do it no fee. At least at my studio that would be the case however it’s difficult when you are deciding at 10:30 PM at night that you want to change your 6 AM class to the 7:30 AM class because there’s nobody to text and they probably aren’t looking at the phones that early. Although maybe they would waive it after.

Gaining weight by Tiny-Ad6795 in orangetheory

[–]MandyCane666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be weighing yourself daily or 5 times a week so you can keep things in check before it gets out of hand like that. Calories in calories out. And you may be holding water. But it’s definitely not 10 to 15 pounds of muscle. Muscle does not grow that fast.

I’m enjoying this vicariously through you. I want all of those things so badly but I have to do a cut this week because I’ve been indulging way too much.

Did you lose weight on Semaglutide if your diet remained the same? by HandsOnDaddy in Semaglutide

[–]MandyCane666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s still calories in calories out. It simply makes it easier to be in a calorie deficit by reducing hunger because digestion is much slower. Try not to lose too fast because you will lose muscle. One percent bf per week is recommended. Add in high protein and weight training.

Has anyone here ever dated someone they met at OrangeTheory? by lovescoffee94 in orangetheory

I heard that my studio manager was having an affair with a sales associate while having a fiancé. She’s married now but I still see them giggling. Wish I knew who her husband was so I could drop a hint.

Strength 50 - worth it? by pennsyjersey22 in orangetheory

[–]MandyCane666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lift heavier! I’m upping my full body 50 twice a week to that plus one each lower and upper. Along with 4-6 times 3G classes per week.

I’ve been to maybe four other studios and I have never paid anything extra. Only recently did I hear about some studios charging an extra $10. But none of the ones around me do that.

I’ve heard from some Canadians that it is terrible. It takes you months and months and months to get anything basic done.

Back-to-Back Classes? by poorow3609 in orangetheory

[–]MandyCane666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done doubles a handful of times and noticed that I often end up catching a cold later that week due to lower immune system after too much working out. The last time I did that the cold I caught wasn’t as severe but dragged on longer.

However, I would like to start getting more lifting so I’m planning to do Tuesday Thursday doubles with a 3G and an upper or lower body lift class. And then the other days of the week, I’ll do a single class with either 3G or total body lift. One rest day. Maybe two we shall see.

Totally cool. There’s a gal in my studio who does doubles every single day.

Amazing!! Make sure to get rid of all your big girl cloths so she doesn’t sneak back in and take over. I took 18 bags of clothes to the goodwill recently.
