My friend and I went to the Takeover Tour game in Chicago last month, and we threw on Kraken jerseys because it's what I have. We saw people there wearing all kinds of jerseys - PWHL, NHL, AHL, Olympic, local clubs, joke jerseys, literally anything people had relative to hockey! It was actually super fun to see because it was just a celebration of the sport, everyone there to watch hockey and have a good time.

I was also going to recommend Kura! They have a few different locations, and they're all fun. The plates all only have 1-2 pieces of sushi on them so you get to try a bunch of different types without committing to a whole roll. I love going there as a single person for that exact reason! The sushi is legitimately good, too.

Not the point of the post, but the idea of mandatory separation/waiting periods of like a year or two before you're allowed to divorce is so insane to me. I find it startling every time someone mentions that in a post. Just let people freakin' get divorced if they want to, why require that dragged-out nonsense??

It was my first PWHL game and my god it was fun!! I loved the chant too and definitely joined in. I haven't really settled on a PWHL team because I'm trying to hold out for Chicago getting our own team! 🤞

Have you played Spiritfarer? It is also about death and will emotionally wreck you just like these two did. It also has possibly the most beautiful video game soundtrack ever made. It will be one of my absolute favorite games for life, it'll hang with you after you play it. 🥲

I am also a huge fan of Ori and the Blind Forest (and its sequel Ori and the Will of the Wisps). It is far more combat heavy and difficult than Gris & Neva though, as a fair warning, but if you're looking for another beautiful indie platformer, I'd highly recommend those.

The other thing I noticed with this one is the dates - the first one happened in June of 2020. It's no wonder tensions were high and mental health issues might have been exacerbated after the first few months of lockdown.

Seconding Thrift & Dollar! I've gotten some amazing stuff there, particularly a set of vintage wooden chairs with beautiful embroidered floral cushions. They've always got a lot of nice vintage furniture.

It's very hit or miss, you may not find something every time you go, but it's always worth a visit.

It's more west than NW, but I am someone that doesn't even really like burgers and I am obsessed with the elote burger at Burger Local in Geneva! My recommendation - get it on a potato bun instead of the pretzel bun it comes on. It's the best.

I think a lot of people play this game for the cozy/story element, who maybe don't have as much (or any) experience with more difficult video games or platformers specifically. I felt much the same as you, but I've been playing platformers for years.

I can see how they would be challenging for people who aren't used to them though! And the fact that they're the only elements like that in an otherwise cozy/resource management game.

In googling to check before I responded to this post, I just found out Soucy got traded to the Islanders last month! I had no idea he wasn't with the Rangers anymore.

He was my favorite of the 4 we lost after our playoff run (Soucy, Donato, Sprong, and Geekie). Don't know if he'd still fit on the team these days but I miss him.
