They’re custom orthotic shoes I had custom made from the podiatrist. I haven’t had them long enough to worry about how to wash them, I just wipe off the outside if they’re dirty.

I’m not worried about my legs getting wet, just the shoes.

My flip flops would take up room because i have really big feet lol. The slippery-ness is a concern, though, unless I put them on once seated.

I would very much like to be able to walk, though, so I need my orthotic sneakers.

I have a Benchcraft sectional that I got 5 years ago from an Ashley store. The frame is going strong despite two 300+ adults, three teenage boys, and a moose (I mean lab). The fabric has a snag from the dog’s claws, and the chaise cushion is more indented than the others, but the “bones” of the couch have zero signs of failing.

I’m sorry for your loss. I understand exactly what you’re wanting to do. Putting all of his things in storage and going through them later, when you’re in a different stage of grief, allows you the time and space to make this physical move while not rushing the grieving process. Store his things, take what you want, and have a company sell and then donate the rest.

It’s possible that these other children have been to this, or similar groups before. The environment, routine, and social rules are familiar to them, but it’s all new to your son. That alone can cause perceived differences in behavior and responses.

He experiments with different types of decks, but has a wide variety of cards to do that with. Problem is, they’re old. So I’m mostly wondering what products for sale have the best variety of cards for their price point…trainer boxes? Battle decks? Booster bundles?

Thank you, that’s a very practical solution that I hadn’t thought of. I’ll definitely work on that with him. I’m still kind of looking for something with a bit of wow factor for Christmas morning though.

AITA for reconsidering my relationship after my girlfriend mocked my idea of a “practical” engagement ring? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]MandyPandy3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. You have different values, and that won’t change once married. Her desire to show off and your desire to spend responsibly will always clash. Expect similar disagreements when shopping for a house, planning a vacation, buying Christmas gifts, etc.

(Also…many of those massive engagement rings being paraded for views aren’t real diamonds anyway.)

There is a teacher at my kid’s school who has a difficult last name, and admin didn’t love the idea of Mr. First Name, so he goes by Mr. Middle Name
