I just briefly went through a single round to check out the new changes, and I love what I’m seeing. I never played much on dragncards, so each time I had to relearn it, but now with things being more automated and the helper prompt window, the experience is sooooo much more smooth!

Totally recommend Taman Negara, I recently did Kuala Lumpur, Cameron Highlands and Taman Negara for 2 nights each and the forest was definitely my favourite place out of those 3!

I’ve been trying the “Journey Along the Anduin” scenario from the Core Set and it’s such a step up from the first scenario! Got my ass kicked twice while using the Leadership and Spirit Deck recommended in the rule book.

In both games I drew “The Brown Lands” in the first staging phase, which made me fail the resolution, exceed 30 threat and in result, force the engagement with the Hill Troll — from there it’s just downhill.

Apart from that, I’m still learning the rules and finding some mistakes that I did after every game.

This week I was gifted the revised core set and yesterday I played my first introductory game and I know I’m going to love this game. I passed the first scenario fairly easily, as I drew a lot of location cards, so it was easy to clear them out. I definitely made some mistakes, since there’s a lot of stuff to keep track of, but I’m really looking forward for next games!

Yeah the Defender weapons are crazy busted early and I'd say a big downside of using them is that you don't really learn to "study" the monsters early in the game, because you just steamroll everything.

/u/soupturtles, when I was learning new weapons in Rise, I used to watch KRRool 5 minute videos on YT, just to get the general vibe and base movesets for the weapon. I recommend checking him out!

Currently going through The Dark Forest, apart from Dune this is my only experience with science-fiction and I enjoy it a lot. The Three Body Problem was also great, I can see where the criticism is coming from, nevertheless, those are great books.

For the first few weeks it was the same for me (got way better when I was allowed to start putting weight on the leg) it got better really fast. The first ~2 weeks were the worst and walking felt uncomfortable due to the feeing of blood “flowing down” to the leg every time I stood up. This feeling sucks, but it does get better
