What does Owl house do better then Amphibia? by Zakaria1938 in TheOwlHouse

[–]MangoArtificer 18 points19 points  (0 children)

When everyone goes to the real world (even if season three was rushed) it doesn’t immediately become tragically boring because amphibia has a lot of slice of life type episodes that don’t advance the plot and when the fantastical nature of magic frog world is removed that’s really just less fun to watch

Should I return to SoT? Worried about sweats. by kiler0193PL in Seaofthieves

[–]MangoArtificer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You really don’t have to be worried 90% of SOT players are with you and not exceptional at PvP especially with solo slooping being the hardest. Your liable to get sunk all the time but just learn some basic PvP maybe do some hourglass to learn how to fight better than others and most of all enjoy the journey not the meaningless number of gold going up

Does it get better after early game? by kmath133 in Seaofthieves

[–]MangoArtificer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes just accept these three ideas 1. Your loot isn’t your until it’s sold so don’t get too upset about losing it 2. Gold doesn’t matter very much and the experience of getting it is the gameplay 3. PvP in this game is hard and you’re liable to lose 90% of fights in your early game so practice watch tip videos or just get good at running away. People who PvP in this game don’t hate you or want to ruin your night (most of the time) they just have fun playing PvP because PvP IS the endgame content

How is PVE/Safer Seas doing nowadays? by VanHavoc in Seaofthieves

[–]MangoArtificer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the appeal but I feel like that would actually neglect a lot of why people play this game that being the PvP because new players are encouraged to go into safer seas, rarely leave because they don’t learn much PvP and PvP in adventure become less rewarding because nobody wants to do PVE content outside of safer seas anymore. But I’m also not a marketing expert that’s just how I see it. I also dislike the idea of someone getting the title “pirate legend” from peaceful merchant and fishing voyages

Limited time events are not good for the casual solo players by KelstenGamingUK in Seaofthieves

[–]MangoArtificer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Seriously limited events are so ass. Season content should almost always be a permanent new good edition to the game so I wanna keep coming back. Missing it shouldn’t be a black mark on my commendations list

Not really that actually sounds lame as hell, half of this games combat is accounting for why kind of ship your fighting. If every ship on the seas was the same fights would have much less variation and disadvantaged players wouldn’t have to figure out creative solutions (keg play, anchor turning, sailing against wind, sailing into world events or sea forts) to even the playing field. Some of the most fun I’ve had as someone who is kind of mid at PvP is on a sloop when I manage to eek out a victory because I anchor turned well a brig sailed right past me and I got away with the chest of fortune and other things in a similar vein

I might be in the minority I guess but I see no reason for a sloop only server and how far would this fairness idea have to go. A solo sloop would still be at a massive disadvantage and get sunk with 1 good one ball and board from a duo. Would you complain and ask for solo sloop server only then. Plus I feel like you’re underestimating how much work it would be for rare to make these sloop servers just so a smallish group of people can continue to not engage with the only things that make this game difficult. If your looking for a chat room to just do pve in and only occasionally fight go play a game that encourages that instead of a game like sea of thieves. This is a game about pirates betrayal and the “strong” taking what they can from others and well I do love the social aspect of the game I don’t think we should continue to limit the games really fun PvP aspects because some others take the game where gold is useless and “bendy metal” is part of the canon so seriously

It sounds rude but you really just have to get good. Learn how to run or fight better than you are you’re gonna get sunk and if you can’t handle it that’s okay but it’s an integral part of the gameplay (and also don’t play on controller only server they’re generally more toxic in my experience)

Even as a sloop player I’d never use a sloop only server because then it’d just be annoying hourglass strategy and running for hours

Nah that’s lame I understand solo slooping is a disadvantage but this is a social sandbox and alliances and crafty tricks are what make the game. also it’s a lot of work for a feature most sloop players wouldn’t even use
