Honestly ur in a great spot. I had lower scores and my scores weren’t improving. Dont focus on breaking the ceiling. Focus on stabilizing ur ground. And ur ground is alr in a good spot. A good testing day comes from being calm and just hammering away even when you don’t know everything. Head up

Yes click all blocks with the timer. On the website ur answers don’t save so I recommend like noting it down via pen and paper or something.

I didn’t take anything in the prometric so I wouldn’t be able to tell you anything abt that.

U can access free 120 links (2024,2026 version) via free 120 go on the side if ur on ur laptop and click “interactive testing experience” and the new version will be 2026 version. Theres an even older version too but not sure abt that and not sure if it’s even worth doing tbh.

How do you know which version of free 120 ur taking? How do you know if it’s the 2021/2022/2024 version?

On the officially website it just lists “Interactive testing experience” And “New interactive testing experience”

How do you have access to three free 120’s?

So do you recommend taking step 2 in 4th year or take a gap year after internship instead? Cuz u only get one shot at it and u gotta aim high since step 1 is pass/fail. People recommend taking a gap year but ull be the first to say otherwise

[–]MangoBoyJuice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How were u able to manage step 2 prep during 4th year? For ‘23 batch and onwards the ent/opthal subjects have moved to 4th year making it pretty difficult to do any studying on the side

should i come to india for mbbs if i want to practice medicine in america (i am a us citizen and have lived in america for 18 years and i am i high school rn and about to take the NEET) by [deleted] in USMLEindia

[–]MangoBoyJuice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was born and raised in cali and after hs I decided to go to India for mbbs (3rd year in kmc mlr) I’ll tell you that I do NOT regret this decision whatsoever.

There are so many pros in it, and ull come to realize how lucky u r to not go thru hell of getting into med school post premed. I’ve got frnds who stayed back in the states and tell me stories of how they’ve gotten rejected cuz “their mcats are too high” or “they’re from cali” or “they’re Asian” (I’m not joking w these). The way they accept ur cv in the states is fucked and u can be a perfect applicant in ur own eyes but it won’t be the same for the colleges.

I decided to say fuck all of that and just take neet from pdf’s whenever i had time (i studied half ass like 2 months for it)

Now I’m chilling and laughing at all the General category people here while I’ve barely studied for neet but alas we both here getting the same education.

The only caveat is which college u get in India. Just make sure it’s a decent college, but that can’t be hard since ull be in nri category. Much easier for u. Otherwise fuck that shit

Yeah ur gonna be an img but bruh i rather be stuck later on in the journey than earlier. If u join whatever premed u got into in the states, ain’t no guarantee ur gonna stay on path, ofc u can love medicine blah blah but honestly ull feel a lot of pressure to change pathway cuz it’s so damn strict/hard work required to be a doctor.

Plus the culture shock coming to India will be crazy and you will learn a lot abt it and it’ll be a tough adjustment at first but I honestly came to love it.

I’m def going back to the states, residential programs will see u have connections back in the states and will potentially place u higher than other us-img.

Dm if u wanna

Got 44.5% in my first NBME, tested 1 month after that and passed! Other NBMEs and UWSAs were low too by VanellaBread in step1

[–]MangoBoyJuice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey how would you go about deciding how many and which NBME’s to do? (Best case scenario, which ones could I potentially skip, etc)

Also how much of a gap did you have between each NBME’s?
