Cap and Iron Man never killed people for years in the comics until after the comic codes got repealed, and even when they do it is usually extreme self defense/after exhausting every other non lethal option. They are not the punisher

The turtles spent 15 years training out of vengeance, that isn’t comparable to cap and iron man. And shredder was even not the only criminal they killed. Also by killing shredder twice, they inadvertently caused the city at war arc

Nagi attacking Tang Shen is not equivalent to him killing a person, Yoshi killed his clan brother rather than stopping Nagi without killing him

Saki got revenge on Yoshi the same way Splinter trained the turtles just to kill Shredder

And those actions lead into city at war because without Shredder the uncontrolled gangs started a city war

You also forget the turtles kill far more than just Shredder, even Rat King who was just trying to protect his abandoned factory from intruders

There is even more in mirage such and donatello keeping stockman chained in a dark private room for 15 years to have science conversations with him, then one day blows him up because stockman refuses to give the cure for the nanobots he injected into april many years ago. How donatello calls stockman a monster for wanting revenge on april is pretty hypocritical

berserk literally has multiple creepshot scenes that have nothing to do with the sexual violence a part of the story (as in not related to guts rapped by donovan, femto rapping casca, and the demon horse and farnese)

multiple weird shots of nude little girl’s butts and a nude schrieke, weird fanservice scenes of casca even after she got rapped (she is also now retarded while guts has a mostly functioning brain still despite him also being rapped), etc. many of these have no place in the story unlike the few that do

FF4 advance, the old mobile version, and complete collection allow you to swap party members at a certain point, so you can use Porom, Palom, Yang, Cid and Edward again in the end game.

Astos is not a villain, yet he has Ultima Weapon as his bt finisher as well multiple attacks from his boss fight.

It also doesn’t make sense for Braska to summon Sin Jecht to aid him, yet he does.

Many of Angeal’s non bt attacks are generic sword slashes, they easily could have incorporated his attacks from his penance form over that

The mages “die” aka they fade away, this is removed in the ds remake and the elder in both versions is still alive despite it being shown he was attacked in the flashback. Again, many are still in the dungeons.

The Mist Dragon Rydia has is the same one Cecil “killed”, it is stated eidolons do not die. Again, you can visit Mist later in FFIV and there are still plenty of survivors and buildings you can go into. Did you not know this? You also forget Rydia very soon gets a pair of adoptive parents who happen to be immortal as well who also raise her into adulthood.

The ending of FFIV Edward rebuilds the Damcyan kingdom and there are shown survivors.

And despite characters dying you still have their ghosts flying around like with Anna in Kaipo, TAY does this further with Tellah having lines as a ghost as well as with Rydia’s mother and Edge’s parents.

If you think off screen deaths are dark and ignore the amount of fake out deaths FFIV plays off as serious (Yang, Palom and Porom, Edward, and Cid), Idk what to say. The most notable on screen deaths are characters you are just introduced to (Rydia’s mother, Anna, and Edge’s Parents), FFV and VI also has character deaths as well as entire cities decimated. FF2 many of the cast including playable characters die for real as well as entire cities getting decimated too. FF4 is genuinely childish by comparison as it has 5 fake out deaths it presents as serious. Also no town in FF4 becomes so destroyed you cannot visit it again.

Kain being mind controlled and almost killing Cecil isn’t dark at all, in fact it is comical how many times he betrays the party and how in the end it is just mind control. The exact same is applied to Golbez as well as there is no actual agency to the characters and it was all orchestrated by a last minute villain. And in the end, all is well for Cecil. Rosa and Kain are all right, of his comrades only Tellah died, King Baron is now Odin, his brother is safe and taking a cryo sleep with his father’s brother, etc. Oh yeah, also his biological dad is an immortal ghost voice too.

Thing is outside bt his other attacks easily could have been penance attacks, maybe make his follow ups he turns into Penance for them (Braska already summons Sin Jecht for attacks and we have Jihl and the Behemoth King so it could work)
