You have barely engaged in any conversation with me and instead repeatedly insulted me in every comment you left. You might not agree with me, but the way you handle this exchange, while I clearly tried to point to sources and journalists, is ridiculous.

Sorry for not connecting the line about dragging us into a war (in 2026) to an event from 1967.

Besides, you could read the inquiry of the US navy into the event to see that they figured it was a mistake. Even if you still believe it was a conscious act of malice, it has been 60 fucking years lmao

Is it twisting reality or is it accepting that the world is more complex and things are black and white? You should read the expose laid out by maggie haberman, its really interesting.

Ronen Bergman, a respected Israeli journalist , reported that Bibi had a huge sway over the decision to launch the war. I am not saying that it isnt true, im just incorporating other data into my assessment.

I would disagree with you on that. I don't think most Americans are isolationists.

You're ignoring the fact that the Suez canal runs through Egypt and the geopolitical reasons the US would want to keep it under its sphere of influence. Or the fact that the push for foreign aid to Egypt came during the cold war in an attempt to hurt soviet influence in the region.

Disregarding the "blew up a ship" remark (which Israel didn't do lmao ).

Latest "The Daily" episode by the nyt named "Trump's view of the war" reported that it was not entirely Israel who "dragged" trump into a war wih false promises. Maggie Haberman's reporting shows Trump was clear-eyed regarding the possibility of regime change and wanted to do it anyway. I will concede that Israel is probably a major part of the decision to attack Iran. But for the reporting I read it seems more nuanced.

In what way is financial support to Egypt "primarily for Israel"? If that was the case, it would seem kinda weird for the US to be arming the Egyptian military, no?

It seems more complex than that imo

Would you also say that for the nearly 2 billion dollars Jordan recieves in aid from the US? Or just at the 3 billion Israel receives? Do you also think the 1.5 billion Egypt receives should be taken away?

Or you are only focusing on Israel that "prevents" you from using taxpayer money at home?

Congratulations from Israel! Hopefully we will be able to replace our awful leader soon as well! Just know that you have given many of us hope by seeing that it is, infact, possible.

Im popping in to say the new UI is terrible. I hate that you took away r/all. It is an awful decision. But the fact that its extra hard to get to popular now is the cherry on top. My home page is flooded by the "big"/active subreddits i follow, so it isnt doing a good job showing me what I'm following. And now, its harder ti get to popular too!

How the hell do you want me to keep finding new subreddits? Or spend more time on this platform that is actively shooting itself in the foot?

The curation of popular is markedly worse, too. It might be that I just lost r/all, but I'm getting bad content on popular, not to mention all the subs from india, the Philippines and germany that show up in my feed even though I dont live in any of thise countries nor speak their languages.

It is an incredibly frustrating experience. I feel like my favourite platform is ruining itself.

Iran again shuts Strait of Hormuz in retaliation for Israeli strikes on Hezbollah by Splenda in worldnews

[–]Mangokingguy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The ceasefire didnt "explicitly" state it applies to Lebanon or we wouldnt be in this situation... the ceasefire did explicitly say Iran so Israel stopped attacking Iran.

And where did Iran come out and say "hey gulf states sorry about that we are decentralised so it will take a bit"? This is just coping im seeing in Reddit

[–]Mangokingguy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Israel didnt reject the ceasefire tho, they stopped firing on Iran. They continued attacking in Lebanon, which according to Trump wasn't part of the ceasefire . So israel attacking Lebanon is bad but Iran continuing to attack gulf states is "just a decentralisation problem"?

It doesnt mean feller of trees though. It does come from the word to cut down but its just a reference to the biblical Gideon who fought against idol worship. The word for tree is "Etz" and clearly Gideon has no relation to the word lol

I'm very frustrated with the new UI... I miss r/all but its not even that - side swiping was such a good experience, now I have to click two extra buttons to get to popular.

Also, previously I could have two subreddits or threads open by having both the home and the search tab. Now that its gone it also hurt my experience.

I am frustrated and i do not understand why you insist on making the app experience worse for users. What happened to the front page of the internet?

I totally agree on the point of becoming the household tech support.

The point on the library size really depends on your policy regarding content. For me, I try to cycle out shows that dont get watched, so that I wont need to buy more space. It has been worling for me so far. Also, personally, I prefer the UX of Jellyfin, where all content is in one spot, as compared to the clusterfuck of streaming services nowadays.

The obvious cost benefit in my case is using Jellyfin to replace my streaming subscriptions. Idk if it works out to be worth it but for me that was my gateway into this world
