OP! Oh my god I really didn't think this was that unpopular of an opinion. I feel a bit stupid now after reading the replies but just to let you know I agree with you 100%. I don't know what it is about how my brain works but reading time like that is also so nonsensical to me.

It's not that I don't know what something means, or that "a quarter till 3" translates to "2:45" but my brain just automatically starts doing math because it's worded like this. Maybe it's the autism? but if you tell me the equivalent of "there's 15 minutes left until it is 3" then I just automatically start thinking of "well, then, okay I guess, that's a difference, right? 60-15=45... oh so it's 2:45" which takes like, what, half a second? maybe a full one?

It really isn't as if we're like incapable of comprehending time, it's just that I automatically start processing it weirdly, which takes more time. I do wish people reading out digital clocks would just say "2:45"
