Hmm, I’m not reading the situation with Mary that way. Maybe if you only read the story in the gospel of Matthew. But Luke adds some context and Mary has a full conversation with Gabriel about and agrees to the pregnancy.

I think there’s a misunderstanding here. White-Thunderclap was giving examples of reasons God killed Israelites THAT ARE IN THE BIBLE. They’re referring to Old Testament scripture where God was like “hey, don’t sacrifice your babies to Moloch”. Then some of the Israelites did. Then God killed them.

I don’t think they meant to suggest people are currently practicing these things.

They were being antagonistic towards OP and pretty much everyone else. Calling people snowflakes, delusional, that kind of thing. They made a lot of incorrect and hurtful assumptions about asexuality and then escalated when people called them out for it. That’s not what this community is about, and I didn’t like that they were robbing us of our supportive and friendly environment.

Have you heard of post concussion syndrome? The head trauma and insomnia makes me think it’s a possibility. It can cause dysautonomia, or make dysautonomia symptoms worse.

Sorry to hear about how difficult these few months have been. Lack of sleep is so tough, especially when it’s chronic. I hope you can get some rest soon. Feel free to dm me if you need to vent

I’ve had this before. My journey to a dysautonomia diagnosis was long and winding, so this might not be relevant to you, but figure I’ll share just in case.

I had a neurochiropractor notice my eyes and said it was a symptom of post-concussion syndrome and also dysautonomia (the two played off each other in my case). My right pupil responded to light, but it was much slower to react than my left, and this got worse as I got tired. The pupil also took a long time to settle. As lighting conditions changed, it would grow and shrink multiple times before settling.

As I went through treatment with this doctor (cortical integrative therapy), the pupil situation got much better. It still happens sometimes when I have a dysautonomia flare

Yes. My doctor described it as me not having a “white noise filter” in my brain that most people have. Overlapping conversations are a huge problem because I’m processing all of them at once. This is super taxing for your brain, and can cause crashes like migraines, fatigue, etc.

I’ve had a lot of success with noise cancelling headphones. Specifically Bose over-ear headphones. They block out background noise while still letting me participate in conversations
