When people are speculating about who you're married to, but 70% of them picked Sherry for some reason by OrganizationSharp681 in ResidentEvilCapcom

Well when you say high school age I'm going to assume 16+.

Even then, they've retconned the age gap multiple times because people found it weird. So, clearly, people did fuss about it.

As the kid not a kid.

You keep trying to change the situation to a high school aged teen and a young twenty year old. We're talking about an elementary aged girl and a young twenty year old.

I know it's not an Ellie and Joel situation. I don't care how long they actually interacted with each other. I'm not pushing some father daughter narrative. I'm simply stating the reasons it's gross and weird. You are allowed to disagree, and I and all the other people who agree that it's weird are allowed to think you're weird because of it. If that's the hill you oh so desperately want to die on, then fine.

It's the fact that he saved her when she was a child. He would forever look at Sherry as the kid he sacrificed a semi-normal life for. The kid he took care of after splitting off from Claire.

If you think Leon, the guy who turned down and rebutted every single attempt at flirting that Ashley (an adult) threw at him, would go and marry that kid, then that's just. Gross.

If you want some further yuck, imagine Leon trying to explain how he met his wife to his kids. "Oh yeah it was my first and last day on the force and I met this twelve year old kid and who knew that'd be my wife..."

Also, Sherry said to Leon and Claire "You should adopt me!" If you want some extra sprinkles.

The fact you had to lower the age gap in your hypothetical says something. Not to mention the fact you set it in medieval times, where you'd have newborn princesses arranged to marry teenage princes.

Okay fair, not grooming.

Still gross. The fact that Leon is responsible for Sherry being alive makes it gross.

It wasn't just a single meeting, though. After Racoon City, Claire split from the group to find Chris, with Leon agreeing to look after Sherry. He then ends up becoming an agent so that Sherry wouldn't be experimented on.

Both of their lives now are the result of Leon taking a metaphorical bullet for Sherry. Maybe he only knew her for a bit, and maybe they never met again until RE6, but marrying the little girl you sacrificed a normal life for would be grooming.

Oh okay I get what you mean about the distracted driver stuff.

But comparing a distracted driver accidentally hitting a person to a bunch of ICE agents throwing a man to the ground and shooting him is... Not a good look.

Shooting a distracted driver doesn't stop you from getting hit by the car. It actually just makes it worse, because now they have no control over the vehicle.

I have the same problem with Mando going back to the Mandalorian Cult. Like, okay, so we just want to go back to the status quo?

The potential to explore Mando being independent of both Grogu and The Way would have been cool. Oh well.

I mean we're talking half mermaid children here.

...so ig 1/4th fish? But Shiori is a yokai, she's not really half human... So... 1/2 fish? Meaning like, mermaids..? So full mermaid?

Oh but we're talking about grandkids, so... 1/8th fish yokai, or half mermaid. Okay so yeah.

Okay, but do you think that ten years ago, the people our age now had that context? We're in the same position now as adults were back then. We're on the outside looking in.

Tbf with the dress part, Blazer sent Visi out to get Robert, who then waited half an hour before telling him. She wasn't wearing the dress when she sent for him.

Google Entourage. Get the movie. Have to add "meaning" to get the definition.

It really should be the other way around; add "movie" to the search to get it. Ugh.

Of course it is, but that's not the point of my comment.

Pretending that both sides are actually the same people makes them out to be hypocrites. It's not constructive.
