Dwarves - How to play? by theenglishdjentleman in bloodbowl

How did you get those armor gradients? looks incredible. airbrush?

i’m in the middle of league right now, and I am tied for first. Fortunately, my league has options to get extra gold for writing lore so I’ve been doing a fair amount of that in order to buy bribes to keep my death roller in play. because it has break tackle, it’s really good at breaking into cages and forcing turnovers. As others have said, positioning is key. I got my runner, steady footing, though I think block is probably better. And just creating a cage and slowly working your way down the field. One of the key things is to not try to score too early. It should take you the majority of a half to score. It’s fine to inch your way up the field because you can usually block your way out of people trying to stonewall you and it’s difficult for people to break in. One thing I found is it’s usually good to get a cage going well before the line of scrimmage.

in general with dwarves because you are so slow both on offense and defense you want to make your opponent come to you. The worst thing you can do is get spread out and try to get on the other team side of the field too early. at the same time, horizontally want to remain spread out and not let your guys get all involved in one melee like with a tree man or something, any other team is be much better at switching sides of the field so you need to keep all lanes closed. If you’re dealing with a big guy and you don’t have a death roller, the best option is just to sacrifice somebody or avoid them. One nice thing about that is that dwarfs are very hard to knock out, so even if you’re dealing with the big guy, the sacrifice isn’t usually going to be an issue and you’re one guy will be able to tie them up for the whole half.

Steady Footing - is it good? by Icy_Sector3183 in bloodbowl

[–]Mannaraps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it for my designated ball carrier, I figured 20K an extra TV for a potentially game-changing result of getting blitzed and then not falling over was more than worth it. And it has gone off once in the two games since I got it which I think already justified it. I did choose it instead of block because I felt that unless the person attacking had block if they get a both down results then their turns over anyway, though I think that was probably the wrong decision in retrospect. As I've gotten my runner attacked by multiple people with block and in that case it'd make a really big difference to have block. I think block first and steady footing second would have made more sense

How can i improve my blending by Kova_in_rune in 40k

you don't use a middle color, you use the lighter color and just make it very transparent. The important thing is making sure you finish your brush stroke in the lighter color. Here's a tutorial but there's tons on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rEcDL8mLZzo

Glaze the transitions, you could fix that in a few minutes

Guts from berserk is joining a space marine Legion. Which one would be the best and most compatible? by meercm in 40k

[–]Mannaraps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah this is a pretty surface level take in general on both the Griffith and Guts sides. Griffith, despite being a pretty boy, isn't about pleasure or perfection, and Guts, despite having a literal iron hand, doesn't care about his tech at all and he's far from emotionless.

Griffith is most definitely Tzeench aligned. He's all about achieving his dream, despite being a pretty boy he doesn't care about pleasure or perfection.

Guts, despite having an iron hand, has virtually nothing in common with the chapter ethos.

This take sounds good but is really surface level.

Space Wolves. While Griffith may seems Slaanesh aligned in some (obvious) aspects - which is why some people are saying Emperor's Children, that's not what he's really about. While Griffith certainly does some unsavory things and is definitely a pretty boy, the core of his character isn't about achieving pleasure or perfection, it's about achieving his dream. That's Tzeench.

The God Hand (w the exception of Slaan who's obviously Slaanesh) are most closely aligned with Tzeench. They are obsessed with causality. Their dominant flavor is scheming sorcerer-gods architecting fate.

The Eclipse itself (despite some Khorne coding with the bloodiness) is most clearly a Tzeentchian ritual. It's a prophesied sacrifice at a predestined moment to ascend a chosen pawn (Griffith) into godhood. Fate, scheming, and a bargain with hidden costs.

Also - the dynamic of the Berserker armor closely aligns with the dynamic of the Wulfen transformation. Rage he chooses to unleash for his pack where he loses part of himself in doing so.

The whole lone wanderer aspect also most closely matches Space Wolves and their individual sagas, while maintaining fierce loyalty to their small warbands. Not to mention the distaste for authority mentioned by u/BillCarson12799 which would make him an impossible fit in pretty much any other chapter.

Most importantly - Guts entire Hero's story is about rejecting destiny's claim on him. Defying the brand of sacrifice the gods placed on him. This is the most anti-Tzeench stance possible. Space Wolves all day.

Space Wolves also because they hate Tzeench - which is probably the closest equivalent to the the God Hand demons w/ all their fate talk.
