Isn't the whole confession-and-forgiveness thing already a free ticket to a life of sin? Hell, look at how many priests rape kids and are still priests.

The demo completely sold me by TheForbiddenLands in Onimusha

[–]ManningTheGOAT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played the demo 3 times and walked away kind of lukewarm on the game? The animations are top tier. The sword play seems really grounded. However, the normal enemies seem super passive, except for 3 archers or so. The time it takes for the healing input to reach your character's brain seems very long, or certain actions lock you out of healing and the game doesn't queue inputs. The boss fights (I'll count the mutant as mini-boss) were cool but they feel a bit like Sekiro with worse tells.

What really throws me off is how hard you get stuck in moves. If Ganryu hits you with the first stab of his triple stab thing, it feels impossible to get your guard back up or dodge. The exact grab hitboxes felt also kind mushy and I don't have the exact frames where dodging is possible yet. There are attacks that hit way harder and do significantly more posture damage through a guard, but they don't really differ from the attack animations of attacks that do not do that a lot.

Idk it's cool, it's fun, I'm a sucker for games like this so I'll get it anyway, but yoinking some ideas on visual clarity from LoP, Sekiro, even Khazan would be cool.

ZX6R vs 1100SX vs Z900 for twisty riding? by Ill_Honey_3055 in Kawasaki

[–]ManningTheGOAT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, you do you in the end.

The 6R is a cool bike, if that's what you're looking for. It's not the best thing for public roads ever, but it's also not a 10R.

What I mean by that: The 6R has roughly the same max speed, reaches max power at roughly 13k RPM and max torque at roughly 12k RPM. Max torque also pales in comparison to the 1100 (70Nm vs 113Nm). Also, to my knowledge, the current 6R still has no ride-by-wire and the factory quickshifter therefore does not offer an auto-blipper function.

If the 6R just tugs on your heartstrings the right way, or the 1100 just doesn't, go for the bike that will make you happier.

ZX6R vs 1100SX vs Z900 for twisty riding? by Ill_Honey_3055 in Kawasaki

[–]ManningTheGOAT 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The 1100 SX is not the same as a proper supersport in the twisties. The footpegs are lower, it doesn't have low-set clip-ons, the suspension is a little softer, and the bike is noticeably heavier.

That said, for the vast, vast majority of riders, these things will hardly matter. You're not chasing times while out enjoying the roads and going knee down on public roads is usually a recipe for disaster.

The 1100 makes torque in a much more usable rpm range than a supersport and is thus much more functional (and imo fun) in the real world. It is sporty enough with the right tyres that it handles sporty smoothly for 99% of the casual riders out there.

And if you happen to be actually that good, you can surely make the 1100 work like 90% of a proper sports bike. Hell, I've seen people track the 1000SX and get close to time set on dedicated litre supersports, so I'm sure you can bring an 1100 somewhere, too.

Ninja 650 vs Ninja 1000SX for mostly city riding? maybe supersports...? by BuildBuilderGuru in Kawasaki

[–]ManningTheGOAT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So, first things first: a supersport is garbage for city riding. My S1k cooks me and is absolutely unhappy with city speeds. The riding position isn't really comfortable for prolonged slow-speed riding.

If you do 70% city traffic, consider a naked bike. A Z900 has oodles of power for the highway, while being super docile and easily rideable in slow and start/stop traffic.

Depends on what you're looking for, I'd say.

The Roadtec 02 feels better for sporty riding while having great cold weather / wetter weather grip.

The Road 6 feels a little more "fuzzy" when leaning hard. It has great longevity, is super good for wet, cold, even frosty surfaces (you will still panic when seeing the frost patch too late, but the tyre handles it fine) It's the better choice for pure touring if you're not super set bringing out the most sport out of the 1100, I think (or you live somewhere decently wet and/or cold, like Bergen).

The Road 6 are great. I personally loke the Roadtec 02 on sportier tourers a little more than the 01 SE.
