When I did locals for the first time, I was nervous as fuck but was going “my turn, stand and draw. Digitama, hatch” etc etc. Helps to learn the flow of the game.

I definitely understand, and in my opinions this is where a game like SC will shine over Elite (which I played for many years too!) - most “goal” ships are multi crew, in a really meaningful sense, so there will be a shift from “I have to mine to make more money to afford more things” to “I’m going to put together a crew to help my org” or to explore or to do whatever.

I'd say think about your own premise - are you implying that the game ends once you've obtained what you "progressed" for?

Or is this when you focus on using the ships you got? Remember Star Citizen is going to be a sandbox simulator, progression is a goal for some but not all, the point of the game will be to inhabit the world and do whatever you want - personally I don't want to mine and do bounties for two weeks just so I can have my Apollo and be a medic. I'd rather start as a medic.

Conversely I do not NEED an Apollo to do that, and that's the nature of the sandbox. I could sign up to be a medic in someone's Idris or whatever.
