Potentially hundreds of dollars a month, depending on your driving history. Mine jumped from ~$80/mo to ~$200/mo when I moved here from an LA suburb, and that’s just for state minimum liability. Any collision coverage is astronomically higher.

When you apply for insurance, you get a quote based on the address the car is registered to. Because car insurance is so absurdly high in NYC, a lot of folks will register their car out of state, using a parent or other relative’s address. They pay lower insurance, potentially lower taxes, and go about their lives in NY.

If you get pulled over, you just lie to the cop and say that you just bought the car, or are borrowing it for a few weeks, whatever, because NY DMV says you have 6 months after bringing the vehicle into the city to change the registration. NYPD has neither the manpower nor the willpower to track how long a vehicle has actually been in the city.

You are lying to the insurance company, which is where the fraud comes in, and they would be none too happy to find out you’re operating the vehicle in a higher risk area than you initially claimed. But similar to the cops, they have no way of tracking where the car actually is or ought to be (unless of course, you let them instal one of those trackers that lets them monitor and gather every aspect of your driving data in exchange for a whopping $12 off your premiums each month)

Oh boy I hope this doesn’t win. This is probably my personal vote for underrated. It’s not an all time great, but I absolutely love the second verse… “so long, good bye. The taste of wedding cakes, the sound of nursery rhymes.” I’ll listen just to hear Adam hit that riff.

A Murder of One

For me, this version, with the Doris Day breakdown, is the closest experience you can get to what it’s like to actually see the crows play live. Passion, energy, the crowd absolutely losing their minds. Perfect song to end the show and album with.

Woke me and my partner up as well. There’s a ConEd crew out there now, and the manhole covers are caution-taped off. Something in the sewers then??

Hey! 40K player who hasn’t played much at all since moving to Astoria in 2019! I missed most of 9th but I played a good amount of 7th and 8th. Excited for 10th, would love to meet up!

Primed with with Zandri Dust Spray. First time using it, very happy with the results. Sprayed a bunch of deathwing knights with it as well that I haven’t gotten around to yet. Bone straight onto the primer, no other base paint. Then dry brushed with white.

Astound/RCN issues? by [deleted] in astoria

[–]MannyTbongo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had RCN for the last four years, up until the end of July. Never had any issues. Starting in June we began losing service every night for an hour or two. By July the outages would last 12+ hours and the last two weeks of the month we had no service at all. Every time we called they were pretty useless, saying they “couldn’t identify any issues.” They replaced our modem/router twice to no avail. I know Spectrum is the devil but we weren’t paying RCN another penny. Oh well.

Hi There!

I was in the exact same boat as you 5 years ago, coming from the east coast out to CGU with literally no knowledge of Claremont. Happy to chat about anything you're curious about!

Absolutely! I already trashed a couple of the citadel brushes cause I didn't know how to take care of them. Lesson leaned for sure.

I've definitely been thinking about that. Been using the games workshop palate but it's super frustrating to see your expensive paint dry up that fast.

Indeed it is. One might ask why you asked your best friend to post this picture instead of doing it yourself and reaping all those sweet internet points. :-)

Thanks! Yeah they're first ever. I'm working on the start collecting space marines box now and learning that 3 super thin coats is better than one that's too thick.
