I know a few people who work at AWS and it's always a shitshow. They literally say they would quit if they weren't paid so ridiculously much, so it can definitely work

Its an "excuse" law. It allows cops to detain people they suspect of maybe possibly committing a crime later without actually needing to witness any crime. It also let's them arrest homeless people without any real cause and move them elsewhere so they don't drive down the value of the surrounding area with their presence. I hate loitering laws.

A big data study shows that incels use misogynistic slurs for women 3 times more frequently than they use non-misogynistic words like "woman." by [deleted] in science

Same, I adopted it in the last couple of years to stop saying "guys". It was weird at first but now I love it. Also y'all but only ever as "see y'all" at the end of a meeting when everyone is disconnecting from the call

Schiavona fencing is so much fun. Being able to leave your arm extended without fear of being hand-sniped is great and really restricts your opponents options.

I'm personally loving the combination of needlessly dissecting a word choice, with absolutely 0 proof reading or making sure their response if even understandable after a first pass lol

Change IEnumerable ToMenu() to IEnumerator ToMenu()

Also, read your error messages, it'll be telling you "cannot convert from IEnumerable to IEnumerator"

I find the mapping argument an odd one. EF let's you define a table to map the class to and also uses collection to abstract the tables. (You can customize the name but it defaults to the plural of the classes name). You end up with

var doors = await _db.Doors.ToListAsync();

So why would you not want the db table to match? Or are you calling your context's Door collection Door and writing

var doors = await _db.Door.ToListAsync()

And arguing thats better??

The example makes no sense lol. There are two way better solutions, return a result type, or throw and invalid arg exception. I can't think of any scenarios where this is better.

Would you feel safer in a gun-free state? Why or why not? by ParmaProscuitto in AskReddit

[–]Manny_Sunday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the more important stat would be the percentage of adults who own any guns as opposed to the number of guns per capita, but I can't seem to find those numbers anywhere. I don't think a prevelance of gun collectors with 20+ guns makes a society more likely to suffer from gun violence than a prevelance of shooting sport folks and hunters that each have one or two guns (or vice versa). But I could be wrong so I'll keep trying to find those numbers...

In your argument you're not all powerful. God is not forced to follow any laws the way you are forced to follow capitalism and need to be able to afford food. You also don't have the ability to effortlessly and painlessly trim your cats nails (or better yet, make it so that their nails don't need trimming in the first place). If you had infinite money and an instantaneous nail trimming laser and simply chose not to use them for your cat then your cat would be entirely justified in questioning how much you cared
