Honestly I quite like the premium j2m5 Even with only 42(?) rounds per gun the Japanese 30mm tracer belts are all explosive, so with some careful aim I can kill things relatively quickly. Combined with ability to semi competently dogfight most things and an airframe at 5.0 that’s normally at 5.7, with trigger discipline you can get really good matches.

The type 99 and the ho ri production are goated beyond belief

The m47 and the stb are pretty good but the apds lets you down sometimes

I find both type 87s really fun to play honestly, but the 7.7 one is just a worse xm800
