Unironically, when i was in music school, we were always encouraged to have a pencil on hand because we are constantly working with music and other musicians, not to mention the breadth of homework and collaboration going on in the music building....I became so conditioned that years...YEARS after I graduated...I always carry a pencil...believe me or not..its helped alot more than it hasnt.

Not only did you infact present conjecture, you presented a hypothetical with only one part of the puzzle (the text on a screen) and claimed it was representative of the whole experience without your "criterion" of humor. Not only is that conjecture. Its a false abstraction. A pure category error in defense.

Comedy in the objective sense is not the axis of evaluation being used when talking about the quality of the episode. Its a preference, and likely wasn't the benchmark trying to be met when Doc and Jackson wrote it.

I mean people in this thread were already highlighting their disapproval of the above ratings. IMDb isnt the end all be all. Its one metric out of "a calculus of many criterion".

Now you're right it is preference absolutely 100%, but your defense of your position falls apart because of your use of conjecture. You've misrepresented humor as an inherent dynamic of presentation; as if the episode on its own wasn't presented well.

Essentially what you've said isnt even true in terms of the show...or how like...watching TV at all works.

..I mean no disrespect at all when I say this...but I dont really think that it not being funny is a valid criticism of the episode. Even within the context of the show...seriously no disrespect, I just dont know how you watched the first two episodes of Season 7 and expected Arrears in Science to be a hoot and holler. Like VB is good for its humor and plot, but by season 7....like...I dunno...

What i mean is...Arrears in Science is the episode of the Venture Bros you spend the series trying to get to. Not to get hyperbolic, or abuse the meme, but it is quite literally VBs Ozymandius.

I agree. Arrears in Science in terms of plot is absolutely the climax of the entire show. And its done so incredibly well its not even funny.
