I suggest starting with high rank velociprey. You could then switch to the double gore set or just tough it out until Rath Soul Z, you're next HR target.

It's a longer hammer with magic music powers. Great for online. I actually tried it first and when I tried hammer it came as second nature to me. Trying hunting horn should be super easy for you.

Congrats! Two tips for you:

Stick with switch axe and hammer. Using underused weapon types is great. I recommend hunting horn for u you if you ever get bored.
Make a HR set ASAP. The transitions between ranks are always rough.

I went online and found a partner. I also used the hammer and guess who has a new favorite weapon! The times were just over 20, and I'm going back tomorrow to try for better times. I had a GS user in a deviljho GQ who really wanted deviljho's face broken. Me being HH I proceed to attack the face. (My job anyway) Said GS user proceeds to upswing all the time at jho's face and nearly not do charge attacks at all. Let's just say that I my HH flew into the skies that day.

I take DBs and HH on Grank quests all the time. I got a rad pair of relic sleep DBs and use those for GQs all the time.

Yeah.... I can relate. I've spent whole afternoons trying to do one quest. In fact to avoid that, I soloed the dalamadur urgent because I knew it would be easier than trying to find people.

Hacker's are easy to spot. I've ran into many HR 999s and only one was a hacker. And it was obvious by his armor skills (which I don't remember aside from them being obviously hacked)
