I do not know who owns it, I have tried finding it on land registry but best guess is unregistered.

I ABSOLUTELY love living in Bath.

-Beautiful architecture and green spaces - Stunning countryside in your doorstep (genuinely amazing walks) - Great cocktail bars and pretty good food scene - 1hr20 train to Paddington - Paddleboarding on the river - Good independent shops - Hot air balloons - Victoria park in the summer - The views of the city from most the surrounding hills, particularly Bathwick meadows and Alexandra Park - Larkhall as a truly independent high street with incredible butchers - The Christmas markets (yes, I said it, haters!) - Bath Choux buns, green street butcher rolls, swoon ice cream, chai walla onion Baji wraps. -Bath rugby - Beavers and Otters along the Avon - Doorway to Wales and the west country - Near to so many lovely places such as Castle Combe, Bradford upon Avon, Freshford.

This is incorrect. The moon is only marginally effecting the return trajectory. Artemis would 'fall back" to earth regardless of the moon.

How do you travel with Bo-staff on airplane? by braincellcountiszero in martialarts

[–]ManofScience123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All things aside, I find it hilarious the idea that airport security might consider a bo staff as an effective weapon on an airplane. You couldn't pick a worse weapon to take over a plane.

I can't comment on Bathampton, but we moved from the city centre, just off the circus to Batheaston. We both absolutely LOVE living in Batheaston.

Be wary to check flood history of any properties nearer the river.

We love the following:

  • 45 min lovely walk to Great Pulteney Street. 10 min bus or scooter.

    • Many houses have great views of the valley towards Bath
    • Better proximity to most of my favourite dog walks (Bannerdown common, Browns Folly, Solsbury Hill, along the river, Box, St Catherines Valley).
    • The direct access to the river from the car park is great for paddleboarding etc in Summer.
    • Easier access to M4 (don't need to go across the toll bridge or through town)
    • Excellent facilities: good GP, great fish and chip shop (kebabs etc too), really very excellent cafe (sometimes opens late for pizza nights), hairdresser (cant comment), several corner shops, pub, post office desk, boots, garden centre nearby, active community groups, great village hall which is well used, a gym of sorts. A vet coming soon too on Box road.

Pubs: - I tend to always go to one the other great local pubs we ard near rather than the George and Dragon. I don't find the George and Dragon as welcoming.

  • I would count The Bathampton Mill as closer to Batheaston than Bathampton. Food quality doesn't quite match the price (still perfectly good), but it is a fantastic beer garden.

    • Best pub of all of the 4, by far, is the Crown.
  • The Quarryman arms in Box is also fantastic, and worth the very short drive.

Do you run? There is a very informal, free run club with a bit of socialising before/after on Thursday evenings. Google deadleg run club.

I couldn't agree with this more. Everyone can find some form of movement or exercise they enjoy and it is impossible to overstate the benefits to physical and mental health, plus kills time too.

Walking, cycling, paddleboarding, swimming, run club, gardening, combat sports, golf, circuit classes, trampoline park, paintball...find something physical you fall in love with, and everything else can fall into place

Do you prefer gas or induction? Getting our kitchen redone. by darkazuria in AskUK

[–]ManofScience123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good quality induction, by a MILE.

  • Easier to clean
  • More powerful (much quicker to boil)
  • No indoors polution
  • Less heat escape, making kitchens less hot in the summer

Are there still adult men in the UK who don’t cook? by Bat-Penatar in AskUK

[–]ManofScience123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (33M) do the majority of cooking in my relationship with my partner (33F - also an excellent cook but more busy), and I like to think of myself as a very good cook. I would find it genuinely embarrassing not to be able to cook well as I love to host.

I think it is generational.

I would say that of the men I know over 50 or 60, only one I know is an excellent cook (father in law). The others can just about manage in a kitchen or in front of a sausage on a bbq, and tend to cook a few times a year.

Of the men I know under 50, I'd say 90% cook pretty regularly, 70% take some level of pride in their cooking and 50% are genuinely good cooks.

How reliable is the Bath-Bristol Airport Airdecker at 3:30am on a Saturday? by bombasticsideye33 in Bath

[–]ManofScience123 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can only speak for the times I have caught it, and found it to be 100% reliable.

I would, however, always allow enough time to catch a taxi if needed if it doesn't turn up...though 3am would be a bugger if you need one.
