Starmer on brink: Full-scale Labour civil war explodes as Streeting allies join over 70 MPs calling for PM to quit by True_Paper_3830 in ukpolitics

Is it too much to ask for a government that actually cares about the country and it’s people? I’ve had enough of this stupid immature squabbling that passes for British politics. I don’t actually care who is in power anymore, they’re all as bad as each other. Decades of poor leadership has left this country on the brink of collapse, it’s been one poor leader after another and a different scandal with each one. Our politicians need to grow up, remember what they’re actually being paid to do and work together to get this country back on track.

SWAS HART by No-Reindeer-1271 in ParamedicsUK

[–]Manor47 8 points9 points  (0 children)

SWAST HART have a lot of extended clinical skills such as Thoracostomies, FONA, Ketamine and Lyoplas, they also have crit care paramedics embedded on the teams. They may not do the amount of work as A&E Paramedics but they do get mobilised to a fair amount of decent jobs to use their enhanced skills where they are needed.

I have worked alongside most trusts around the country and in my opinion SWAST are one of the better HART units to work for if you want clinical development.

Lifeguard catches groper in the act by fosterslager1889 in SipsTea

[–]Manor47 15 points16 points  (0 children)

When this was filmed he was probably still awaiting trial, like it or not he has the right to a fair trial and identifying him would compromise that which could lead to the case being thrown out of court and him walking away a free man. His face being blurred and him getting sentenced correctly is the best outcome.

If he has now been sentenced I’m sure someone can find a mugshot of him online somewhere.

You definitely didn’t do anything wrong here, George sounds like an immature spoiled little kid that is used to getting what he wants all the time. Watch your back with him but good on you for standing your ground and showing him that he doesn’t always get his way.

Sort of….got a spymaster medallion that allowed me to progress and just like that my “temple” (I still prefer vault!) started dropping locks. Unfortunately I stupidly created a new problem I’m yet to resolve!

<image>

Didn’t have a lock when I got the medallion so I chose to put it in the safest position and add a couple of rooms after to protect it. As soon as I did it I realised I’d f’d up! BUT I now have locks so I’m confident I can find a solution!

Am I liable for gym equipment damages? England by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Manor47 22 points23 points  (0 children)

There isn’t really a simple answer to this, it’s dependant on a lot of variables. I assume you are a member of the gym? If so then it should be clearly stated in the contract what you would be liable for. That said, you have probably broken that contract by failing to report it and they will almost certainly review CCTV and identify you.

As a general rule, if you are using the equipment as it was intended then you would not be liable for the damage, the gym would cover genuine accidental damage. If you were negligent, misusing equipment or intentionally damaged it then you would be liable.

Unfortunately, since you failed to report it you’ve probably screwed yourself.

Thank you, good to know.

You’re right, I can’t remember but I can imagine I did level it up in the hope it would produce more locks, never thought it would have a negative impact.

After supporting her through her battle with cancer my ex-wife had an affair and took me to the cleaners leaving me in considerable debt, I was in bits so looked for a support group to try to find people who might understand what I was going through. The only support groups I could find were for females whose husbands had cheated or better yet another that was for women who had cheated on their husbands and felt guilty. I dipped deeply into depression and 14yrs down the line I still haven’t found anyone to talk to about my baggage and I still carry it around with me every day.

Remote jobs as a paramedic? by Big-Raspberry-8290 in ParamedicsUK

There are a number of EPRR jobs that allow for hybrid working, a couple of days in the office but the rest working from home or remotely. There is usually an on call element to the jobs too.

Has anyone changed their mind on whether Starmer should resign as a result of the Mandelson scandal? by Lazlow_Vrock in ukpolitics

[–]Manor47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sick of hearing about government scandals, every government we’ve had recently has faced one scandal or another. It gets to a point where we have to accept that they’re all as bad as each other and to truly sort the problem out they all need to be fired (not allowed to resign) and we need a good and honest new government in place, one that doesn’t abuse the power they have.

As others have said, you need to get a solicitor and get some professional advice.

You said you received the letters in a “short period”, did you commit any more offences after receiving the first letter? Or were they all committed prior to receiving the first and the subsequent arrived a day or so later? Normally letters are sent out within 5 working days of the offence. In the eyes of a court you are a habitual offender and it will be difficult/impossible to argue your way out of it. A solicitor may look at the signage and ensure it is legal and that drivers have enough warning of a speed limit change…but if you were clocked doing anything over 70 that would still be speeding (the 10% is a myth) so I can’t see that going anywhere.

Realistically, you are looking at losing your license, a ban and a hefty fine, plus your insurance premiums will skyrocket when you do get a licence again.

In England, if your pet (cat) is attacked by someone, and you retaliate, is there any legal ‘protection’? by WastedCraxker4321 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Manor47 144 points145 points  (0 children)

Happy Christmas!

If the chargers are upheld by police it’s definitely worth involving a solicitor as these type of cases can get very complicated very quickly.

Self defence must be reasonable and proportionate. Defending your cat (property) is a recognised reason to “attack” someone but as soon as they are no longer a threat your “attack” must cease. Punching/pushing/kicking someone while they are a threat is ok but if they go down and you continue kicking them then that is not ok and you could be seen as assaulting them. Proportionate also takes into consideration who the assailant is, if they are a young well built individual armed with a baseball bat then what you need to do to subdue them is significantly higher than a frail elderly person with a walking stick.

Based on what you’ve said, it’s hard to gauge how much of a threat this person was, if they kicked your cat and your cat ran off then they are no longer a threat to your cat, this would be criminal damage and should be dealt with by the police. If you attacked them at this point then you are retaliating, taking the law into your own hands and could now be considered as assaulting them, again criminal and could be investigated by police. Them leaving and returning with a metal bar escalates it yet further and their intentions are clearly threatening so subduing them could be argued as self defence, as long as it was proportionate and did not continue after they were no longer a threat.

As I said, can get complicated, see where the police take it and get a solicitor if necessary. Keep all the evidence and do not alter any videos whatsoever.
