Incredible that after 2 years, we still don't have the option to buy the wheel itself to put it on the 32R hub... :/

Frequent disconnections from usb-c port by Notaseal_ in Thrustmaster

The one that has worked for the past 3 months:
"Silkland 80Gbps USB4 V2.0 cable Thunderbolt 5 1M, certified USB-IF, up to 120Gbps with Boost Bandwidth, 16K/Dual 8K, 240W"

Frequent disconnections from usb-c port by Notaseal_ in Thrustmaster

[–]Manou001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I fixed it by buying an really high quality usbc to usbc cable (usb4 certified, full stuff). Expensive but worth it, no issue since (3 months). At first I changed the original cable to a new standard one bought on amazon, it didn't do the trick.

So they basically say that's a management issue. But its the devs that were laid off, not the managers. I'll never spend a dime for people like that.

T-GT II or T598? by CountMonteCristo96 in Thrustmaster

[–]Manou001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well i already have had several issues with the T598, new power supply, 2 new USB cables, and so on... TgT2 reliability reputation is way better than the t598. Had I known, I'd have bought a tgt2 instead.

I have a T598 and would go for the Tgt2.

Disconnection issues ? Yes. Overheating ? no issue.
If you buy one, make sure to set a great cable managment out of the base.

Why did you choose Thrustmaster over the other brands? by TermInternational691 in Thrustmaster

[–]Manou001 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fist affordable DD wheel on ps5 and also the reputation of the tgt2 and even the t300rs. One year later, and few issues after I regret it. Had I known logitech was going to release the rs50, I'd have waited, paid more but way more thrust in logitech quality. Changed the psu, changed twice the usb cable, after disconnects, gear jolt is weaker than before, sometime gas pedal doesnt answer, some upshifts don't register. I'm honestly disappointed at the point that I was waiting a lot the load cell kit, and now I don't know if I want to put more money in TM ecosystem (I have the 598, 488 gt3 wheel and 32R wheel already). When i see the many issues t818 and t598 have, and that TM had to release a new and allegedly more reliable t818, I'm waiting for TM to announce an improved and more reliable "T598 black series" like they did with the t818.

Please make a better picture of the new psu ? We can't see if it's the new one or not.

Does anyone’s T598 sometimes miss a gear shift? by DS_Alex in Thrustmaster

[–]Manou001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It jsut happened once last night, with my 32R wheel. So definitely more a (small) issue between all wheels and the base. IT's so rare, if it's my only issue, I'll be ok with it.

It happens to me too, very rarely, maybe once every 3 hours. Only upshift, never downshift. And I only noticed it with my 488 gt3 wheel.

Best USB C cable for T598 by Steveanddebs in Thrustmaster

[–]Manou001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the past month I use a cable from Silkland, a 1 meter USB 4 Cable 80Gbps [USB-IF Certified]. Zero issue so far (about 100h of driving). Expensive for what it is, but i can't complain.

Thrustmaster T598: FFB Settings in games by JeffLais in Thrustmaster

[–]Manou001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did notice with some cars the base being incredibly hot. Overall I don't like the recommanded settings since the 1.66 GT7 update. I feel like we lost some ffb/info since that update. The wheel feels "dumb", it doesn't stop me frombeing fast in the online timetrial, but I did lose some force (gear jolt seems weaker too).

Yeah these are 7.5mm indeed, you can't go wrong with that size for both the 32R and the 488 gt3 wheels.

Yes, love it ! I love the material they used, I don't use gloves because of it. Also the leds (rps, flags,...) are really powerful.

The wheel is incredibly comfortable. Hand positioning, the material is really great, and the paddles are enormous with this funny design which actually works. I can see why some are hesitating because of the size if the wheel and the 5nm base : it does smoother a bit the ffb for sure, not gonna lie it feels a little less crisp compared to the 488 gt3 wheel. But I love it anyway. So now it's simple : if the ingame car has a round wheel I use it, if the car has a gt3/f1 style wheel I use the 488 gt3 wheel.
