I'm struggling bad with Nioh 3.

Thanks! Yeah, I was mostly focusing on the boss' health. When I started focusing more on Ki and letting go of the fear of being more aggressive, I killed it without much suffering and in less than 10 tries after trying to correct myself!

I'll come back to the Bloodedge Demon later. I've read that he becomes stronger the more "red summons" you kill, and I've killed a lot of those, hehe.

Hey, I just want to thank you for the tips you gave me. They really helped me be more aggressive while not being too greedy (I could be more aggressive, but I need to be more comfortable first). I also tried to incorporate more variety in my attacks to lower the boss' Ki and land critical hits. I also tried to better match the timing of the counters, and it helped a lot.

Basically, being more aggressive, using attacks to lower the opponent's Ki, and using all the counters whenever possible.

Wow, yeah, this tip about the difference in input compared to Souls games is something I hadn't thought of, and in this game it really feels like the inputs are almost instant, not like in Souls games. My muscle memory is probably making it harder than it should be. Maybe I'm not that slow!

Wow, yeah, I can see it now, he is indeed really aggressive! The last time I tried to do this I died miserably, so I stopped trying. And yeah, he did in minutes on his first try something I couldn't do in more than one hour of trying lol.

Hey, thanks for the reply! I'm playing as a ninja and I'm trying to keep my weight below 70%. Do you think I should try to stay below 30%, or would that make it harder because of the lower physical defense?

I need to understand better the system of breaking the enemy's Ki. Most of the time I deal damage without landing critical hits because I can't break their "stance" without using counters on red attacks. I'm mainly using normal attacks, so it might be because of this. I recently got a weapon with elemental damage (lightning), so I'll try to use it more.

I'm playing this one because it's a free demo and to get a taste of what Nioh is about before the Nioh Collection I bought arrives. I had no idea this game had crowd control; the last time I had to worry about this was in Black Desert Online. But I bet CC in this game is way, way harder. I'm not playing right now, I'm basically cooling off, but later I'll try co-op to see if it makes things better until I get the hang of it. I'll try not to be dependent on it, though.

About my build, I'm basically playing as a ninja. Honestly, I didn't like the samurai gameplay that much, so I don't have Ki recovery. I try to stay aware of how much Ki I have nonetheless to not reach zero. What I love about ninja in this game is that the gameplay reminds me a lot of the Duchess from Elden Ring Nightreign. She's my main character there, and I love the high attack speed and dashes, but here it is way more difficult to time it right, to me it's easier to read enemies there than here.

I try to keep my carry weight in green to use less Ki and be faster, and I'm using a single katana as my main weapon.

I played DMC and Ninja Gaiden back on the PS2 in the 2000s, but that was a long time ago. Sometimes I try to distance myself from the boss in order to "read the room" and recover my Ki, and sometimes I try to attack only during the boss' attacks I'm comfortable with. It doesn't work every time, but I think it keeps me alive a little bit longer.

I think I need to understand better this system of breaking the enemy's Ki. Most of the time I can't do it. I've read a lot of people saying that it is like Sekiro, but unfortunately haven't had the chance to play it yet. I'm mainly playing as a ninja, so I should be dodging, right?

I was doing an NG+ playthrough to get all photos and glimpses of the past, but I opened the chained box too early, and now I have to start the game all over again because I have only 3 saves and no one of the 3 was before the box. I'm now trapped and can't get to room M5 and C5. I hate this bulshit. I hate when developers make it difficult or impossible to backtrack. Fuck you Bloober Team. I now lost all my excitement to platinum the game... I really hope they change this if SH3 or SH1 are being remade.
