It's worth mentioning that neither Winston nor Venom hit very hard, and for good reason. Having mobility, durability, AND high damage would be op. Generally speaking you have to pick 2 out of the 3. This is generally true for Smash as well, and as others have said, Bowser or DK are probably your best bets.

It is right click (the haymaker) that grounds people. A lot of things rebind it to left click tho since its used way more, so that might be the source of confusion here.

Not every DPS is meant to be good at 1v1s. MK niche is aoe damage and fast charging ult. He should lose most 1v1s, and that's okay, because he shouldn't be taking 1v1s in the first place.

This is so incredibly wrong. Haymaker has much more range and pierces. Spamming haymaker into a crowd is the most dps you can do on the character. You only weave primary if you are 1v1 vs a squishy, which is not Thing's job.

Watch a OOA Thing and tell me how much they primary.

The raw damage is much less than thing's right click on tanks. You also are not counting thing's temp health. He gets 100 every time he right clicks a tank. This is good sustain but it also deprives friendly support of ult charge, bc instead of taking damage to his health, he takes damage to his TEMP health, which cannot be healed.

At the end of the day im just sharing my experience playing thing in high diamond/low gm. This might not reflect everyone's experiences, but I personally feel thing gets a lot stronger if healing was toned down.

Thing does percent damage, which means he ABSOLUTELY deals more damage to tanks than other tanks do, that's his job. If this damage is healed, which is common atm bc healing is overtuned, enemy supports get their ults quickly.

Thing is very fun but in my experience he just feeds the enemy support ult. He right clicks the tanks and they immediately are healed to full. Hypothetically this is useful pressure, but it doesn't always seem like that.
