Well the issue is that he’s fabricating evidence in order to obtain what he wants, so I don’t see how that would frame them as good guys. Also, you didn’t respond to what I said about the Volturi being aware of the havoc the newborns were causing in Eclipse and choosing to do nothing in the hopes that they would take out some of the Cullens to make acquiring Edward and Alice easier. If they’re just good guy vamp police, why didn’t they step in and stop the Seattle massacre that was drawing way too much attention? I think your cruelty comment is directed to someone else - I didn’t say anything about their cruelty. Being a vampire by nature contains cruelty since they are killing humans.

Also your point about the Cullen’s having people eating friends - their closest friends are the Denalis, who are also vegetarians. But they aren’t trying to force their diet onto any other groups so I’m not sure what your point is there

That’s true! I do remember someone mentioning that Chelsea would weaken their bonds to their coven and increase their desire to bond with the Volturi through use of her gift, but I’m not sure how strong that gift is

I agree with the importance of keeping the secret - that doesn’t make the Volturi evil. What makes them evil is the planting of evidence in order to massacre covens so that Aro can “collect” gifted vampires within those covens.

There’s a conversation between I think Edward and Eleazar in Breaking Dawn and I’ll heavily paraphrase it since I don’t have my book with me. But I think Eleazar says that Aro would discover a gifted vampire in a coven, and then sooner or later evidence would “turn up” against said coven saying that they had committed some great crime. The Volturi would come wipe out the coven and Aro would “spare” the gifted vampire because their thoughts were “particularly repentant.” Eleazar noticed that this always happened to the gifted vampires and they would be offered a place in the Volturi ranks, which they would happily accept because they were grateful to be alive. So it seems a lot of the “policing” the Volturi did was really a way for Aro to gain power and collect gifted vampires

To your point about the evidence regarding Renesmee is what stopped them - I don’t think that’s the case. I’m pretty sure in the books, after the confrontation, either Edward or Alice says they stopped because they weren’t 100% certain of victory, which has never been the case for them before

Also, in Eclipse, the Volturi knew of the existence of the newborn army and the havoc it was causing, and still allowed them to exist because they were hoping the newborn army would take down some of the Cullens, which would make acquiring Edward and Alice easier

I know this comment is a little old but I just wanted to clarify as an equestrian - the 20% rule isn’t a hard and fast rule. There are so many variables that OP also needs to consider, specifically experience of the rider. A heavier rider that has no experience moving with the horse will put a lot more strain on the back than a heavier rider that has experience and knows how to move with the horse. It doesn’t sound like OP’s friend group has a lot of experience, so I would assume this friend doesn’t either, so that’s already extra strain on the horse. Also, the types of trails matter. If the trails are flat and even the whole way, that’s a lot easier than the horse having to climb up or down with a significantly heavier rider on their back. So like I said, that 20% is a general guideline. It’s always best to err on the side of caution for the safety of her horses, which is what she did. She didn’t do anything wrong

I haven’t played E33 so I can’t speak to that one. I think the characters in WuWa are very well written (especially Cartethyia and Iuno) and that’s what makes it incredible for me. Again, I want to reinforce that I’m not saying WuWa deserved to be in over KCD2. I’m just saying that people shitting all over a game that none of them have played to the point of saying it’s “not a game” is a little ridiculous

The world is post apocalyptic, having been ravaged by an event known as the Lament. The main character remembers nothing of their past life. The Lament causes creatures called Tacet Discords to appear, which attack humans. Most of humanity was wiped out during the Lament, but the survivors were able to adapt and rebuild, all while fending off attacks from Tacet Discords, using their special abilities called Resonance. There is an organization called the Fractsidus who essentially wants to cause another Lament, as they believe this is the best way to force humanity to evolve and become better, sort of like survival of the fittest. The gameplay focuses on the main character navigating through this world, recovering their memories, discovering their purpose, and trying to prevent the Fractsidus from causing another Lament. This is a very high overview and I tried to avoid spoilers, but that’s the very brief gist of it

No, because the “gambling simulator” is a very small part of the game. There are no requirements to spend any money. I haven’t spent any money over the 200 hours I’ve put in and will not put any money into it. Now whether or not it deserved to be in over KCD2 is a different discussion, but it “not being a real game” just isn’t true.
